The Devil Inside by J. Black

I think I found a new series I’m in love with. The Morgan Kingsley series by Jenna Black is definitely going to be added to my bookshelf. The series starts with The Devil Inside where we’re introduced to Morgan Kingsley. She’s an exorcist who sends illegal demons back to their own realm. In her society, demons are accepted into willing hosts and they serve the community in multiple ways. However, not everyone is a willing host and Morgan is not exactly sympathetic to the demons.

Overall, I found The Devil Inside to be an excellent read. The novel has great character development, the sexual aspects are unique and intriguing, plus we’re given a whole new premise for Demons. My head cold is still attacking, so everything I’m thinking of is getting overblown. So if I sound awkward, that’s why. Regardless, this novel just kept me enthralled and I can’t wait for the second one, The Devil You Know, to come out at the beginning of August.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. I really loved this book. While I have enjoyed her other series a lot, this series shows great promise and I can’t wait for the next one.
