Apologies Guys!

I know I’ve been a little quiet lately with the news and reviews, but this last week has been a killer.  Jesse has been working third shift, which means it’s just been the monkey and I pretty much 24/7.  Between that and being pregnant, I really haven’t been on the computer unless I had to be.  I haven’t even been reading.  Things are starting to get back to normal, so I should have a bunch of reviews for you by this weekend (fingers crossed).  I’ll try and get some news posted tomorrow night.  As for the reviews, here’s a quick review for the ones coming up:

  • First Drop of Crimson by Jeaniene Frost – Loved it.  Different tone than the Cat/Bones novels, but totally worked. Definite buy.
  • Archangel’s Kiss by Nalini Singh – Closer look at Raphael’s Seven and I’m loving their interaction with Elena.  Plus we get more Raphael.  Another definite buy.
  • Catch of a Lifetime by Judi Fennell – Sweet story about a mermaid and her two-legged lover.  Nice paced story that kept me entertained.  Probably the best of the three.
  • Death’s Mistress by Karen Chance – Great story and if you love Louis-Cesare, you’re going to want to read this one as well.  Can’t wait for the third novel.
  • Beyond the Night by Joss Ware – didn’t I post this already?  If I haven’t, great apocalyptic story with a lot of interesting characters and twists.  Can’t wait to dive into Embrace the Night Eternal.
  • No Prince Charming by Shiloh Walker – Excellent twist on Cinderella.  I’m already bugging Shiloh about the third novel in the series and she hasn’t even started it yet.  Must buy!

I also have a couple of reviews from the anthology Eternal Kiss to get up as well.  I still feel like I’m missing one, but in either case, the full reviews will be coming soon.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Your doing great! We all run into times that are just crazy. You have quite a list there to get the reviews up for. Take your time! Please don’t stress out over it. We are all still here.

  2. Everyone has weeks like yours..just hang in there. Do hope everything is going well with you. susan L.

  3. I don’t think you need to apologize. The fact you put the effort into upkeeping the blog as well as juggling your professional and personal commitments I think deserves a pat on the back. I keep a blog of what I read because my memory has turned into a sieve and getting into the habit of updating on a regular basis is still something I am trying to get into the habit of again.
So, thank you for your hard work and all the best in 2010!
