I’m a big fan of anthologies. I get to read stories by authors I love as well as find some new talent. A new one was just announced for release summer 2009. It is going to include Ilona Andrews, Charlaine Harris, Nalini Singh, and Meljean Brooks. Not word on what the main theme is going to be, but since I know three of those authors (and will probably know Brooks by then), I’ll be keeping an eye out for more news on this.
Eileen Wilks now has her own fan site. There is a discussion board as well as a bunch of fan art. Speaking of new sites, for those who haven’t seen it yet, Ilona Andrews is now apart of the League of Reluctant Adults. It’s a blog site with four other authors – Anton Strout, Jill Myles, Mark Henry, and Stacia Kane – from the Urban Fantasy genre. I haven’t had a chance to really browse the site yet, but from what I’ve seen, it looks good. If you didn’t see it before, there’s an excerpt for Jeaniene Frost’s One Foot in the Grave available at her site. I’m not sure if that link will work, so if it doesn’t, just head over to her website and it’s about halfway down next to the cover of the new book.
Still no excerpt for Lover Enshrined. I know it’s not due out until June, but I can’t wait to see it. It’s Phury’s story afterall and if you’re a member of the Warden discussion boards, then you would have seen the Mating Ceremony that involves him. If you haven’t been to the boards, then you should get over there. Ward put up an unreleased snippet where Phury goes through the official Mating Ceremony with the Chosen. It’s kind of hard to read, because it’s interwoven with all the comments, but if you can follow it, it’s worth the read.
According to Karen Chance’s website, she is going to be a contributing author for Strange Brew, a new dark magic anthology. There’s no word on when it’s going to be released or who else is involved in the project, but once I find out, I’ll let everyone know.
Swallowing Darkness is the latest Merry Gentry novel by Laurell K. Hamilton. According to her website, it will be out late this year. My guess is around November/December since that’s been the pattern so far.
