Reader Interaction

I’m curious to see how many people read my site, so I’m going to post a question for everyone. If you had to recommend ONE novel to someone who has never read any kind of paranormal before, what would it be?

I’m not sure if I could pinpoint one novel, but when I thought of this, Full Moon Rising by Keri Arthur popped into my head.

And for those who don’t read paranormal, what ONE book would you recommend?

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Either
    Storm Front by Jim Butcher
    or
DarkFever by Karen Marie Moning as good jumping off points. They have enough “reality” to them to bridge the gap between general fiction and paranormal.

  2. I think it would depend a lot on what they already like to read. I’m a romance fan and got dragged kicking and screaming into the vampire genre by JR Ward.

  3. I would suggest “Undead and Unwed” by MaryJanice Davidson or “Guilty Pleasures” by Laurell K. Hamilton.

  4. Well it seems that all great minds do think alike! All the suggestions I would have made have already been made –
    Bitten by Kelley Armstrong
Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison
Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris
Undead and Unwed by Maryjanice Davidson

So I will add to the list with –
Any Dark Hunter books by Sherrilyn Kenyon
    Dark Lover by J.R Ward

    There are more…but I haven’t got all day ;)

  5. For me it would be The Black Jewels Trilogy by Anne Bishop. It seems to be especially appealing to female readers and I love it. I am excited about Tangles Web coming out in the UK…
