Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Here’s the rules:
- Get the book you’re currently reading
- Open it to any random page
- Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page (Be courteous of your readers)
- You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
This week’s teaser involves Tempest Rising by Nicole Peeler, the first novel in her Jane True series.
From page 57:
I imagined the whole day spent analyzing Read It and Weep’s customers, searching for some clue as to their true identity. In other words, I’d play the supernatural version of Sesame Street’s “one of these things is not like the others.”
From page 160:
Because what if Jason hadn’t accepted your swimming? I thought. What if you feared the truth would be that last proverbial straw and would drive him away?
I was a white witch, damn it, not black. But I wasn’t going to write off demon magic just because of the label. – from Black Magic Sanction by Kim Harrison
His hair was a black-blue in the rain and his eyes seemed to melt as he stared into mine. He was beautiful, mighty and powerful. – from Shadow of the Sun by Laura Kreitzer
I loved this book. It was so much fun and great to relate to Jane. I hope you are enjoying this read.
