Escapist Newsletter (Vol. 2 Issue 2)

If you haven’t noticed it, I’ve added a new section to my sidebar. It’s the “new releases” for the current month. For March, the releases are as follows:

  • Fire Study by Maria Snyder – Mar 1st
  • Dead Over Heels by MaryJanice Davidson – Mar 4th
  • Witch Blood by Anya Bast (but I’ve heard it’s out already) – Mar 4th
  • Chosen by P.C. Cast – Mar 4th
  • Personal Demon by Kelley Armstrong – Mar 25th
  • Midnight Rising by Lara Adrian – Mar 25th

I just read at Anya Bast’s site that she is working under a deadline for the third novel in her Elemental Witches series. Witch Heart is going to be the next title, but she hasn’t said when it’s going to be released yet. Witch Blood, the second novel in her series, is now out. Once I get my hands on it, a review will be posted.

More anthology news, The Mammoth Book of Vampires, is also going to be released in the US July 8th. It was originally going to be a UK publish, but they are shipping it to us here as well. Yea! There’s going to be an anthology involving Maggie Shayne, Jeaniene Frost, Kathryn Smith, and Teri Garey that will be out May 28th. It’s called Weddings from Hell.

Keri Arthur’s Ripple Creek (ImaJinn) series will be re-released starting in September. They are releasing two in September, November, December, and then they’ll be going one per month after that. That may change, but that’s the plan at the moment.

A heard a rumor that there was going to be a Stephanie Plum movie or TV series. I haven’t seen anything online yet, so if anyone knows of anything, let me know.

There is an excerpt up for Nalini Singh’s next novel Hostage to Pleasure. I also found out that there’s going to be graphic novel of the Mercy Thompson series by Patricia Briggs. It’s been produced by the Dabel Brothers, but I’m not seeing much on their website, so I’m thinking it’s still in the early stages.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. The new releases section is really useful thanks! I do have to wait longer though in the UK for most of them, but if I really can’t wait I can get them shipped from the US early. I love amazon sometimes!
