Kat by K. Armstrong

Continuing with The Eternal Kiss anthology, edited by Trisha Telep, I finished the sixth story, Kat by Kelley Armstrong.  I’m already a fan of Armstrong, so I went into Kat with the anticipation of knowing I was going to enjoy a story and she didn’t disappoint.

The premise of the story was fairly simple.  Kat was a young girl who was living with a vampire and they were on the run from vampire hunters who were trying to do what they’re suppose to. However, it comes out that Kat isn’t who she thought she was.  She always knew she was someone special, but she wasn’t sure what or how.

The characters were well developed and I’m hoping we’ll get to see more of them in future novellas or even a series.  I’m not sure if Kat is a part of a new series or not, but the Edison Group (aka the vamp hunters) definitely sound like they have alternate plans that could be fun to either exploit or destroy.

Overall, I really enjoyed Kat and I would be interested in knowing if this is a part of a new series or not.  There was definitely some action going on and it was just enough to help develop the characters, move the plot along and keep me interested enough that I read the entire story in one sitting.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
