Look Who’s Going to RT: Marcia Colette

Can you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
I’m Marcia Colette and I write urban fantasy and paranormal romance. Readers can find me at www.marciacolette.com. I have an upcoming print release from Samhain called STRIPPED. June 1st can’t come soon enough.

Can you introduce us to the world that you have created?
I usually leave werewolves and vampires to the experts like Kelley Armstrong and Charlaine Harris, although I have a half-wolf heroine in my urban fantasy series. My paranormal romance has sexy werecheetahs, a root woman with a secret, zombies of the mentally out there kind, and power-hungry mummies mixed in. Also, I have a YA making rounds that has hags, a telekinetic, and an incubi.

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
This will be my third RT and I’m looking forward to it. The best advice I can give is to map out what you want to do/see ahead of time. Pay close attention to those programs that are marked writer, reader, book-seller, etc. They’ll help. Honest.

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to?
I’m not speaking, but I’m looking forward to signing at the book expo and the giant book fair. Oh, there’s also the mingling, the parties, hanging out with my writer friends.

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
The chick with the adorable five-month-old baby girl. On second thought, that sort of describes my mom, too. She’ll be scouting out the best people-watching spot in the place with the smiles-a-lot baby while I’m doing my author thing. And if you miss me, there’s a chance I’ll be holding the smallest fairy in the room at the fairy ball.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
