Look Who’s Going to RT: Jocelynn Drake

Can you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
My name is Jocelynn Drake and I write an urban fantasy series called the Dark Days series (Nightwalker). I love cats, vampires, Batman, long walks along the beach, working out at the gym, and trips to Savannah, Georgia. I hate big mean bees that chase you, cleaning the kitty litter box, and slow cars.

Can you introduce us to the world that you have created?
The Dark Days series is about a vampire named Mira and a vampire hunter named Danaus who are forced to work together to stop a dark, nature-bound race from destroying the human race in their effort to protect the earth.

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
This will be my fourth trip to RT, I think. Unfortunately, some of the conventions are starting to blur together due to my advancing years and overly crowded brain.

As for advice, be friendly and outgoing. Everyone is there to have a good time. If it’s your first time, don’t be afraid to strike up a conversation with someone next to you. It’s how I managed to make some very good friends and have a lot of fun.

Also, be prepared to not sleep much. These people know how to party.

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to?
I am not on any panels this year. I am hoping to attend as many of the paranormal/urban fantasy panels as possible.

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

    • Thanks Doug! I’m really excited about how well it turned out. I have posts going up twice daily through April 30th (when it’ll end).

  1. I agree with Doug. This is an awesome feature for RT.

I love Jocelynn Drake and her Dark Days series. I wish I was going this year so I could meet her. It’s really fabulous that she’s giving her readers two books this year and only a month apart.
