Look Who’s Going to RT: Shiloh Walker

Can you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
Well, I’m a mom and a wife. I read, and I write. I’m married to my high school sweetheart. I used to be a nurse, and technically still kind of am. I love telling stories, I love reading stories. I love taking pictures of my kids, I love spending time with my family, I love to travel.

Can you introduce us to the world that you have created?
Which one… *G* I bounce. I’ve got a vampire/witch/werewolf world called the Hunters (The Beginning) – the Hunters are basically paranormal cops who keep an eye on the non-mortals of their world. I’ve got a guardian angel world where the characters of fairy tales and folk tales come to life – my Grimm series (The First Book of Grimm). Then there’s the Veil series (Through the Veil) – a sort of urban fantasy/paranormal/alternate reality world where magic and energy forges gates between worlds and wars are waged.

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
I’ve been to RT twice, but only once for the entire event. Make sure you bring comfortable shoes, snacks and try to get some rest while you’re there… it’s…um. Mind boggling.

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to?
I’m speaking one one panel-a romantic suspense panel on Friday with Gennita Loew and several others, plus I’m doing a couple of parties, one on Wednesday (I think) for booksellers, and one on Friday for readers with the vamps and scamps. One thing I want to do at RT? Find and meet Anne Stuart.

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
The writer who hides from cameras.

Sidenote: I noticed this last one when I couldn’t find a picture to throw up here!

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
