Look Who’s Going to RT: Dakota Cassidy

Can you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
I’m Dakota Cassidy and I write humorous paranormal and contemporary books for Berkley Sensation. I live in Texas with my two sons, my mother and seven dogs :)

Can you introduce us to the world that you have created?
My first series with Berkley has been dubbed The Accidentals, beginning with The Accidental Werewolf. The series is based on women who are accidentally turned into one shapeshifter or another and find lurve with a paranormal.

My second paranormal series is The Hell series beginning with Kiss and Hell and this series features Satan and ghost whisperer-like and ghostly heroines.

My contemporary series is based on ex-trophy wives who find themselves divorced, poverty stricken and without their Prada’s. it’s about learning to stand on your own two feet, and the first in this series is titled You Dropped a Blonde on Me.

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
I’m a vet. I think this is my sixth RT. And my advice? Bring mouthwash, a spray bottle with some water and a brush. This way you can just sleep in the lobby and never have to worry your personal hygiene will suffer for all the partying you’ll be too busy doing to actually get back to your room :)

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to?
I am, and I’m looking forward to them all, but I’m probably looking most forward to the Build Your Hero/Idol panel, where audience members will participate in creating their perfect man in American Idol format. I’m Ryan Seacrest–but with better hair. Oh, and taller. Tee hee!

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
Uh, me? LOL. They should look for the big-mouthed broad (who now has reddish-brown big hair instead of dark brown) with more bling than Jay-Z, false eyelashes that could create a small tsunami when batted, and loads of goop on her face. Because I’m old and I have to deflect my wrinkles somehow :) Oh, and I lie and tell everyone I’m a famous author–like Angela Knight or JR Ward. For sure, if you hear someone intro themselves like that, it’s me :)

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
