Look Who’s Going to RT: Rebecca York

Can you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
I’m a long distance runner writer. I’ve been writing and selling fiction and non-fiction for more than, arg–here it comes, more than 30 years. My first novel was a kids’ SF story. Then I jumped into romance, but that turned out to be too tame for me. I morphed into romantic suspense and gradually began adding paranormal elements.

Can you introduce us to the world that you have created?
Since the early 90’s I’ve been writing for Harlequin Intrigue, writing stories about men and women falling in love against a background of suspense and danger. Later I expanded to single title romantic suspense. My long running Moon Series from Berkley began with KILLING MOON, about a werewolf private detective who finally finds his life mate. Since then I’ve written other paranormal romantic suspense novels for Berkley, some, like BEYOND CONTROL, about sexually linked telepaths. My DAY OF THE DRAGON will be out later this year.

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
I’m a veteran at RT. My advice? You’ve never seen a conference like this! Relax and enjoy it.

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to?
I’m speaking on a Thriller panel and a Paranormal Panel. I’m looking forward to getting together with old friends.

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
I won’t be difficult to find. Look for me at Club RT. (the schedule will be listed) or at my Paranormal or Thriller Panel. And at the book signing and award ceremony, of course. Oh yeah, and I’ll be at the parties. I love dressing up as a transvestite vampire for the vampire ball.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
