Look Who’s Going to RT: Angie Fox

Can you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
Well, I write the New York Times bestselling Accidental Demon Slayer series – The Accidental Demon Slayer, The Dangerous Book for Demon Slayers and A Tale of Two Demon Slayers – which are a bunch of offbeat books about a preschool teacher who finds out she’s a demon slayer and then has to go out and save the world (while figuring out her powers along the way).

As far as me personally, I’m an advertising writer turned novelist and I just love writing. When a story grabs hold of me, it’s a kick to grab my laptop and see where the story leads me.

Can you introduce us to the world that you have created?
The Accidental Demon Slayer books are funny paranormal romances about a straight-laced preschool teacher who runs smack dab into her fate when a demon shows up on her toilet bowl. Turns out, that’s just the beginning. Soon her hyperactive terrier starts talking, and her long-lost biker witch Grandma is hurling Smuckers jars filled with magic. And just when she thinks she’s seen it all, Lizzie learns she’s a demon slayer—and all hell is after her.

Of course, that’s not the only thing after her. Dimitri Kallinikos, a devastatingly handsome shape-shifting griffin needs Lizzie to slay a demon of his own. But how do you talk a girl you’ve never met into going straight to the underworld? Lie. And let’s just say he tries a little bit of seduction too.

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
This will be my second year at RT. Last year in Orlando was my first and it was a complete blast. As far as advice to this year’s RT virgins? Relax and enjoy. It won’t hurt a bit. LOL Is that bad? You don’t have to publish that part if you don’t want. Seriously, though, the key to RT is to let go and enjoy the experience. You’ll never make it to every workshop or see every author you want to see. There’s just too much to do. But what you do get to see will be fun and memorable. Oh and be sure to pack comfortable shoes.

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to?
Yes. I’m on two panels and on the court at the Faery Ball. Can’t wait to wear those wings.

My first panel is on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. about Psychic Characters and Psychic Happenings. Then Friday’s panel is about Paranormal Worldbuilding and that’s at 10:00 a.m.

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
Well I’ll definitely be hitting the dance floor at the Faery Ball. Otherwise, feel free to stop and chat after one of my panels or at Club RT. I’ll be in the Club area on Wednesday from 3:00 – 3:30 p.m. and also on Friday from 3:00 – 3:30 p.m. And then I’ll be signing books at the big Saturday signing.

Oh and just so you know, I’m going to be bringing some Kiss My Asphalt t-shirts to RT (like the biker witches wear in my books). So if you say “hi” and I have one with me, it’s yours (a t-shirt, not a biker witch – those women are kind of prickly anyway).

Thanks for having me here to chat and I’ll see you at RT!

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
