Look Who is at RT: Rachel Vincent

Can you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
I’m the author of the Shifters (Adult) and Soul Screamers (young adult) urban fantasy series. I juggle constant deadlines, virtually round-the-clock internet presence, and a crippling addiction to coffee.

Can you introduce us to the world that you have created?
Soul Screamers (My Soul to Take) is a young adult urban fantasy series narrated by teenage bean sidhe (banshee) Kaylee Cavanaugh as she tries to balance a normal high school experience with the threat of the Netherworld, a terrifying, hidden world full of reapers, hellions, and countless other mythical monsters out to possess her, body and soul.

The Shifters series (Stray) follows Faythe Sanders, the world’s only female werecat enforcer, as she fights to define her own role in her family and to claim a place in her Pride. Faythe’s world is violent and her relationships are intense. Her species is on the verge of civil war, and Faythe will be leading the charge.

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
This will actually be my sixth consecutive RT! And my advice would be to have your schedule ready–know which panels/parties you want to attend in advance, so you’re not scrambling at the last minute. That, and have fun!

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to?
Yes, I actually have three panels (one YA, one Urban Fantasy, and one specialty). And I’ll probably attend several other panels in those categories.

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
Um…I guess they should look for me! I’ll be at my scheduled panels, at the mass signing on Saturday, and generally hanging out. I’m not hard to find, and I almost never bite. ;-)

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
