NAC Mini-Challenge: Battle Royale Roundup

For April, Literary Escapism held a mini challenge that pitted two different author sites – Deadline Dames and Fangs, Fur & Fey – against each other to see which could get the most reviews up. The goal was to read up to 5 new authors sometime during the month.

Within 30 days, 15 bloggers discovered 29 new authors and read 41 different novels, which resulted in 50 reviews showing up on the web.  Not only did everyone post these reviews on their own blogs, but it appears that all the reviews were posted at least in one other location.  That’s amazing.  My hope for this challenge was that we would help get the word out on these amazing authors and I think we did a pretty good job.  Check out all these reviews that showed up:

Update: All the winners have contacted me, so I’ve taken the list down. Congratulations to all the winners again!

Alright, I think that’s everything. The next New Authors Mini Challenge will begin on June 1st, but I’ll be announcing it on May 22nd.  This one will be totally non-genre specific.  I hope everyone is having a blast with these mini challenges and I’ll keep them coming on the even months.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

If anyone wants a heads up as to the next challenge and would like to draw up the button for the next challenge, let me know.

  2. Woo hoo! I really enjoyed this and I enjoyed the fact that it gave me an excuse to read those books already on my TBR stack. Thanks for the prize and I too and looking forward to the next challenge.

  3. Congrats everyone! I’m going to be in Florida for 2 weeks in June, but I think I can post review before and after, so I can still do the challenge:)

  4. Moon, I’d rather not be able to post in two weeks because I was in Florida then be able to post because I have to be home because I’m taking classes. :) Which is what I am doing this June. hehe. :)
