I completely forgot to announce the winner of the CL Talmadge contest!  Don’t worry we have a winner and she is…Allison!  CONGRATULATIONS!

The Huffington Post has an article that makes a lot of sense if you really think about it. Dudes Don’t Read: The Book Biz’s Self-Fulfilling Prophecy? is all about how the publishing world actually thinks that males don’t read enough so why bother with them in the first place. I’m probably over generalizing that, but if you think about it, Chris Goldberg is right.  Think of all the new authors coming out and you may realize that there are very few males.  As for new UF male authors, I can really only think of two that have are working on getting their second novel published – Justin Gustainis and JF Lewis.  Maybe I’m wrong, but why would the publishing world think that males don’t read?  I know a ton of guys who read, so I’m not sure where they are getting their ideas from.  What do you guys think?  Do males read?  Can you think of any new authors, who’ve just had their first novel debut’d?

Remember that Book Reviewers Meme that started at Grasping for the Wind and viraled out?  Well, The Crotchety Old Fan is going through all of those links and posting a review of the blogs.  He has only done the As at the moment, but once they are all done, I’ll put up a completely list of links.  It should be interesting to see what someone else says about Literary Escapism once he gets to the Ls.

Want to hear a new years resolution that’s a little early?  Empty my TBR stack.  Have you seen the list on the sidebar.  That isn’t everything either.  There are some books I’ve put back on my shelves because I’m getting intimated by this stack.  The problem is I want to read all of them, but I’m running out of time.  Such is life.

Maggie Stiefvater posted this up at Fangs, Fur & Fey and I had to share.  This is hilarious and she has more of them over there.  You should really check it out.

Keri Arthur, as well as Toni Andrews, Jenna Black, Rinda Elliot, Jackie Kesslar, Karen Mahoney, Devon Monk, Lilith Saintcrow, and Rachel Vincent, are all teaming up for another great group author blog. These ladies are the Deadlines Dames or they will be once they have their website running after the new year.  The website is due to premiere sometime in January, so keep your eyes out for it.

I came across another article discussing the ever changing image of the vampire.  The Reporter News takes a look at the evolution of the vampyre and how they are being portrayed today.
