I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

I love the Kindle Warranty Program. Seriously. I’ve only had my Kindle for less than 5 months and I’ve already had to replace the thing twice and they haven’t given me any problems both times. However, I think it’s time to realize that my Leather Cover isn’t as great as it could be. I know exactly what happened the first time around – it doesn’t like being dropped in a parking lot; however, I’m not really sure what happened this time around. It ended up with a nice crack on the case and while the screen was okay, I was concerned for the innards. I carry it around with me all the time in my purse and I’m thinking it’s not as protected as it could be. So I’m on the hunt for a new case.
Kim Harrison has added an excerpt for Black Magic Sanction to her website. We’re told it’s not the entire first chapter, but a good chunk of it.
In November, when Kelly Meding’s Three Days to Dead was getting ready to release, Suvudu offered serialized versions of The Hoarder and Pride Before Fall, two short stories set in the same world. Now, Suvudu is offering those same two stories as free PDF downloads. Both of these stories can be read on their own, introducing you to Dreg City, or giving you the chance to head back before As Lie the Dead, which comes out this summer.
I came across this movie earlier today and I’m curious, has anyone seen it or even heard of it? It’s called Legend and stars Tom Cruise and Tim Curry. Here’s the kicker though, it was released in 1986. Other than the fact that there was a young Cruise running around […]
Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
This week’s teaser involves Unknown by Rachel Caine, the second book in her Outcast Season series, which releases February 2, 2010. I’m currently waiting for Undone to get in at the library and then I’ll be breaking this one open.

I cannot believe I haven’t posted a review for Darkness Unleashed by Alexandra Ivy. For being the fifth novel in a series, and not having a chance to read the rest of the series, I have to say I never felt like I was missing anything. It was great! A […]
Alpha Heroes hosted it during December, but it’s Literary Escapism’s turn to bring you Short Story Saturday. The idea is very easy…did you recently review a short story or anthology? Then share it. I recently read Melissa de la Cruz’s Shelter Island, which can be found in the The Eternal Kiss anthology, edited by Trisha Telep, but what is everyone else reading?
