Superman: Red Son by M. Millar

12 July 2011 Jesse 0

So it’s come to this. To be honest, I hadn’t read any comics in several years. A series of events changed that: Constant stream of superhero movies (as many bad as good, sadly). Letting Jackie talk me into reviewing the Novelization of Final Crisis by Greg Cox The outstandingly funny […]

Humble Bundle #2

24 December 2010 Jesse 0

Normally LE doesn’t review video games, but this was such a unique deal Jackie and I thought it was worth mentioning.  So this year, I managed to snag the Humble Bundle package;  If you’re not familiar with it, it’s a pack of Indie Games bundled together for a single price. […]

Final Crisis by G. Cox

16 August 2010 Jesse 1

Everything I know about DC comics, I learned from itsjustsomerandomguy. Well, that’s not entirely true – growing up, I watched the superman movies, laughed at reruns of Adam West’s Batman, collected playing cards from Keaton’s Batman movie, and watched the ill-fated Flash TV show. I was mainly a Marvel reader […]

The Last Map to the Throne of God by Trularin

23 March 2010 Jesse 1

At the request of a friend, I was asked to review The Last Map to the Throne of God by Trularin – it turned out to be a flawed, yet enjoyable book. Dr. Paul Bracken and his coworkers are sent to Montana where an anomaly is discovered in an archaeological […]

A New Low/High in SciFi Nerddom

3 February 2010 Jesse 4

So I recently mentioned on my own site that I picked up a Motorola Droid for my new job and have been playing with it relentlessly. One of the many things I like to do when I have a moment of downtime is browse the android marketplace – lots of interesting things in there (I browse just the free section currently).

Anyways, in the marketplace there is an app that looks like a star trek tricorder. When I first saw it, I downloaded it thinking it would be a neat little image display that I could taunt my friend, The General, with when I see him later this year (he’s a big trek fan). I didn’t expect the damn thing to actually *WORK*.

Anachronistic Idioms In Fantasy Writing

8 December 2009 Jesse 0

I feel the need to give this post a little intro. For those who are new to the site, Jesse adds articles on his writings every once in awhile.  He just finished writing The Autobiography of Ziggy Swift: the Fall for NaNoWriMo and he’s now going through the editing process […]

We’ve switched over to our new host, Midphase. If you’re reading this, things should be all set. For those of you wondering why we switched, here’s part of the reason (from the old host): There were also some minor template changes; if you see any issues, please let us know […]

Jackie is on her way back from her sister’s and asked me to kick this off. Over the past week we’ve been working on not just a new theme, but a handful of changes to help improve the site. For those that are interested, here are the details: New Template/Theme:The […]

Ziggy Revisited

8 October 2009 Jesse 3

Just for the record, I WAS finished with the first draft. Honest. I wrote the rough draft of The Autobiography of Ziggy Swift for NaNoWriMo last year, chopped off two sections, rewrote the entire thing and was going to call it good. I just had a small list of things […]
