Queene of Light by J. Armintrout

23 July 2010 Marissa 1

I have to say I had mixed feelings about Queene of Light, which is the first book in the new Lightworld/Darkworld series by Jennifer Armintrout. In a time not long from now, the veil between fantasy and reality is ripped asunder—creatures of myth and fairy tale spill into the mortal […]

A Rush of Wings by A. Phoenix

19 April 2010 Tricia 0

From the very first page, A Rush of Wings by Adrian Phoenix had me hooked. I really thought it was going to blow me away in the end but while I thought it was good, I was disappointed a bit because it started super good and just meh by the […]

Angels’ Blood by N. Singh

18 April 2010 Tricia 4

Just when I thought I couldn’t find a better book out there, here comes Angels’ Blood and blows my previous favorite out of the water. Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux knows she’s the best—but she doesn’t know if she’s good enough for this job. Hired by the dangerously beautiful Archangel Raphael, […]

Angelology by Danielle Trussoni

20 March 2010 Jennifer 3

When I opened Angelology by Danielle Trussoni, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It looked like a good read, but nothing in the blurb had me jumping up and down to get into it immediately. When the book turned out to be a great read, I was pleasantly surprised. Sister […]

Archangels’ Kiss by N. Singh

17 February 2010 Jackie 0

I love Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changeling series and after reading the second Guild Hunters novel, Archangels’ Kiss, I don’t know if I could say which one is my favorite. This new series of her is mindblowing. Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux wakes from a year-long coma to find that she has become […]

Bitter Night by DP Francis

9 November 2009 Jackie 4

I’ve been hearing a lot about Diana Pharaoh Francis’ Bitter Night, the first book in her new Horngate Witches series, and at first I wasn’t sure what to think about it. Now that I have had my hands on a copy, oh yeah, I cannot wait until the second novel comes out.

I think what stands out the most for me is the fact that this isn’t another urban fantasy about vampires or shapeshifters, but something else with witch thrown in. Witches are the powerhouses here, but they surround themselves with Shadowblades and Sunspears who can be just as powerful in their own right.

Spider-Touched by J. Strong

21 September 2009 Jackie 1

I love Jory Strong’s Ghostland novels and Spider-Touched is another fabulous addition to this series. Held prisoner by humans, his angelic memory and power lost because of the sigil-inscribed collar around his neck, Tir dreams of freedom and hungers for vengeance. He’s sworn he’ll never lie with a mortal, but […]

Drawn into Darkness by A. McCleave

31 August 2009 Jackie 1

There’s been a lot of buzz going around about Annette McCleave’s debut novel, Drawn into Darkness, and I can see why. For centuries Lachlan MacGregor has battled demon thieves for the souls of the dead, carrying out his pledge to deliver them into Heaven or Hell. But his greatest challenge […]

Demon Moon by M. Brook

26 May 2009 Jackie 4

I just finished the second installment in Meljean Brook’s Guardian series and I have to say that Demon Moon was a fantastic read. No one would call vampire Colin Ames-Beaumont kind, but they would call him unnaturally beautiful. For two centuries his tainted blood has kept him isolated from other […]

Demon Angel by M. Brook

12 May 2009 Jackie 5

Has there ever been an author that you’ve constantly heard about, have read their blog, but have yet to read any of their work? Meljean Brook was like that for me, but now I can say that I’ve read Demon Angel, the first full length novel in her Guardian series […]
