Seduced by Magic by C. McCray

4 February 2008 Jackie 1

Seduced by Magic is the second novel in Cheyenne McCray’s magic series and was just as good as the first one. The plot moved at an acceptable pace, the erotica wasn’t over the top, and we were introduced to more members of the Fae. Overall, this was another good find, […]

Forbidden Magic by C. McCray

22 January 2008 Jackie 0

“Forbidden Magic is Charmed meets Kim Harrison’s witch series, but with a heavy dose of erotica on top!” – Lyndsay Sands The quote says it all. Forbidden Magic by Cheyenne McCray is a great read. The main heroine definitely reminded me of Pheobe (from Charmed) and Rachel Morgan (Kim Harrison) […]

Must Love Dragons by S. Rowe

20 January 2008 Jackie 2

I love reading romantic comedies, especially paranormal ones. They tend to take the level of fun to a higher level than most others and you still get a decent story out of it. Must Love Dragons by Stephanie Rowe is the second novel in the Immortally Sexy series and it […]

Elijah by J. Frank

11 January 2008 Jackie 0

The third novel in Jacquelyn Frank’s Nightwalker series, Elijah, proved to be just as good as the first two. This time, however, instead of focusing on the Demon’s society, we’re taken into the workings of the Lycanthropes. Reading this novel reminded me that Frank doesn’t like conversations as much as […]

Aisling Grey, Guardian series by K. MacAlister

31 December 2007 Jackie 0

Honestly, I’m not really sure what to say about this series. The Aisling Grey, Guardian series by Katie MacAlister is one of my favorites. It’s one of those reads that’s easy to pick up when you’re looking for something to read and you’re not wanting anything heavy. The plot moves […]

Devil May Cry by S. Kenyon

1 September 2007 Jackie 0

I finally got a chance to read Sherrilyn Kenyon’s newest Dark-Hunter novel Devil May Cry. Kenyon’s vampiric world revolves around mythology and the different Pantheons that have existed. We’ve already dealt with gods from the Greek and Norse Pantheons, but this time we’re introduced to the Sumerian Pantheon and some […]

Working for the Devil by L. Saintcrow

25 August 2007 Jackie 0

One of the new authors I’m checking out is Lilith Saintcrow and her series involving Dante Valentine. The premise is even more futuristic than Keri Arthur’s Riley Jenson novels and a slight take from the Laurell K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake series. The first novel Working for the Devil introduces us […]

Jacob by J. Frank

19 June 2007 Jackie 0

Since it is the first novel in the Nightwalkers series by J. Frank, Jacob explained a lot of the little things that were missing in the second novel, Gideon. Of course, if you’re going to read any series, you should start with the first novel, but I didn’t find Jacob first. I have to stand by my review of Gideon. It’s a good change to read about “good” demons instead of the kind everyone wants to destroy. It’s going to be interesting to see how this series continues. The third novel in the series is coming out later this year and I’ll definitely be checking it out.

Gideon by J. Frank

11 June 2007 Jackie 0

The library is a wondrous thing. They have all of these books you can check out for free. Jesse and I made a trip there this past weekend and I found a book by an author I was unfamiliar with – Gideon by Jacquelyn Frank. The second novel in a series called the Nightwalkers, it takes a different spin on the supernatural – they are not necessarily evil, just different. For example, demons exist, but not in the sense that we’re familiar with. Instead, they appear human, but when they are summoned by necromancers, that’s when they take on the form that society sees as demonic. I’ve been reading a lot of the supernatural lately and all of the books have demons being evil and they are the ones you have to take down. So it’s refreshing to read something from a demons point of view, where it’s the humans that are interrupting the demons lifestyle and not the other way around.

If you like the supernatural and are looking for a new author or just something different, check this author out. I have only read the one novel, but I have requested the first novel from the library and am waiting for it.

For a Few Demons More by K. Harrison

6 June 2007 Jackie 1

For a Few Demons More by Kim Harrison is definitely worth a read. The book picks up about four months after the ending of A Fistful of Charms with a few new werewolf murders. Nobody is convinced that the focus went over the bridge in Michigan and someone has started […]
