9 April 2010 Jackie 2

I can’t believe I almost missed this!  Check out what Alpha Reader found on Amazon – it’s the cover for the graphic novel The Exile by Diana Gabaldon!  I can’t wait for this to come out.  Yes it’s a retelling of Outlander, but it’s told from Murtagh’s POV and it’ll […]

Reader Recommendations – Fantasy

7 April 2010 Jackie 21

I’ve already asked about which vampire & shapeshifter, demons, fae & magic, young adult paranormal and science fiction romance novels everyone would recommend.  This week, let’s take the same question, but this time, let’s focus on what started it all – fantasy. I didn’t start out enjoying urban fantasy, but […]

Bookish Songs

2 April 2010 Jackie 1

Is it me or is this not a gorgeous cover? Suvudu released the cover for the George RR Martin anthology Songs of Love and Death and I so want it! Take into consideration some of the names that are tied to this project – Diana Gabaldon, Carrie Vaugh, Marjorie Liu and Robin Hobb – you just know it’s going to be fabulous. Songs of Love and Death comes out in November 16, 2010, but if you want a sneak peek at the stories, Suvudu has the table of contents as well.

Io9 has a really fascinating article on the Google Book Settlement. They go into a lot of details, including how it all began, and it’s great for anyone who is trying to figure this out. I get how it’s bad for authors, as well as being good, and I can’t say if io9 has a particular slate, but there’s a lot of information if you want it.
