I had only read the first book in the Hunter Kiss series by Marjorie Liu (and it was a while ago) before picking up Wild Light, and I actually really regret skipping ahead. I was really confused in several places and I am sure it had nothing to do with […]
Marjorie Liu has just released her latest Hunter’s Kiss novel, A Wild Light, and guess what I have to give away today. For too long Maxine Kiss has felt an inexplicable darkness inside her-a force she channels into hunting the demons bent on destroying the human race. But when she […]
Is it me or is this not a gorgeous cover? Suvudu released the cover for the George RR Martin anthology Songs of Love and Death and I so want it! Take into consideration some of the names that are tied to this project – Diana Gabaldon, Carrie Vaugh, Marjorie Liu and Robin Hobb – you just know it’s going to be fabulous. Songs of Love and Death comes out in November 16, 2010, but if you want a sneak peek at the stories, Suvudu has the table of contents as well.
Io9 has a really fascinating article on the Google Book Settlement. They go into a lot of details, including how it all began, and it’s great for anyone who is trying to figure this out. I get how it’s bad for authors, as well as being good, and I can’t say if io9 has a particular slate, but there’s a lot of information if you want it.
I dislike putting up news post without at least one image, so since there wasn’t any new book covers (that I saw), I went hunting for a few new fantasy images. I love it when I go looking because I always tend to find someone really hot. This time around it is Yuehui Tang. Check this out….isn’t it awesome? And he has more, which I’ll be adding throughout the post.
Katiebabs has an excellent post on what authors should expect from book review blogs. The article came about because an author requested a review site to no longer mention their book. I’m not sure I understand the author’s reasoning since I thought it was better for a book to be talked about, whether it’s good or bad, then not at all. Check out the article; it has some really good points in it.

The second novel in Marjorie Liu’s Dirk & Steele series, Shadow Touch was a really good read. When I first read Tiger Eye, I wasn’t all that impressed (it reminded me too much of Fantasy Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon), but after reading Shadow Touch, I can say that has changed. […]
