Good News Comes in Threesomes

KT Grant (aka Babbling About Books) had some fabulous news awaiting her at home – her story, The Gentlemen’s Loving Spy, was included in a new anthology that was released today.  Once Upon a Threesome is now available from Ravenous Romance.  Also, her first full length novel, Lovestruck, was also released from Nobel Romance Publishing.

Interviews:

io9 has posted their fabulous list of June science fiction releases.

Has everyone seen that Marta Acosta will be releasing the fourth Casa Dracula novel, Haunted Honeymoon, on October 5, 2010?  How is it, that I only know about this because the book landed on my porch?  Seriously?  Has anyone seen anything on it?

Angie Fox had some fabulous news. She has just signed a contract for three more stories – two anthology contributions and a new Demon-Slayer novel. Yea!

  1. The first anthology is called So I Married a Demon Slayer and Angie is going to be joined by Kathy Love and Lexi George (a new author). There’s not a definitive release date, but it’s suppose to be out sometime in late summer 2011.
  2. The second is called Were Wives of Vampire County and Angie will be joined by Alexandra Ivy and an unknown author. This one has a slightly better release date as it’ll be available September 2011.
  3. The Last of the Demon Slayers will be Angie’s fourth (?) Accidental Demon Slayer novel and will be out January 2011. Check out the blurb:

Lizzie Brown would like to have just one normal date. Instead, she gets a towering inferno with a message: her long-lost dad is a fallen angel in danger of becoming a demon. Not good. Especially since she’s a demon slayer.

Her grandma advises her to stay out of it. Her sexy-as-sin shape-shifter boyfriend would much rather she devote her attention to more carnal pursuits. And her dog’s one demand is for more bacon. After all, he can’t train his pet dragon on an empty stomach.

But Lizzie knows there’s no other choice than to hop on her Harley and help her father – even if the search for the truth brings a bad-boy slayer back into her life and leads her into the middle of a war to end all wars.

Contests:

All Things Urban Fantasy has her amazing list of ongoing contests from the blogosphere.  Current count is 107.

Vampire Wire is giving away a copy of Meg Cabot’s Insatiable.  Contest ends June 8th.

Vicki Pettersson Contest Winners!

While I was at the RT Booklovers Convention, I had the amazing opportunity to talk with Vicki Pettersson, author of the Signs of the Zodiac series.  While she was here, we decided to give away two signed copies of Cheat the Grave, plus two copies of City of Souls to four lucky winners..  In order to enter, everyone had to answer the question: What is your tulpa? Now, without further ado, the four winners are:

Cheat the Grave:

  1. Bethany C. who said: I love this series! That being said, even though I’ve obviously read the books, I don’t get the question. Like a personal demon? Then my tulpa is a big evil procrastinator brought to life
  2. heatwave16 who said: I have to admit that I’m not sure what a tulpa is. It sounds like something that comes into being by just your pure will. It makes me think of something that you are passionate about. For me, I’ve always been magical at making things flow smoothly. I sort and mix and match thing at work all the time to make the best lemonade possilbe out of my lemons. So, I do a good job of making square pegs fit in round holes, if that makes sense.

City of Souls:

  1. Spav who said: My tulpa would be the part of me that seems to always be late.
  2. Marianna G. who said: My tulpa…my growing obsession to workout maybe? It is a weird need to kill myself doing crunches. It is scary. Haha!

Congratulations Bethany, heatwave16, Spav and Marianna!  You have one week to send me an email at jackie AT literaryescapism DOT com, otherwise I’ll draw a new name when I post the current contest winners next weekend.

As always, I determined the winners by inputting all the entries into the List Randomizer, scrambling it up a couple of times, and then had the Research Randomizer pick a number.

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

    • @Nat: I’ve been reading Vampire Wire and haven’t seen anything mentioned there. I must not have been reading as closely as I thought.

  1. Hi, all! Jackie, I’ve been madly trying to get the word out about my contemporary romantic comedy, Nancy’s Theory of Style, and I didn’t even know galleys of Haunted Honeymoon would be available so soon.

I hope you enjoy it! I think the ending will be really satisfying and wonderful to series fans.

I’ve also just posted my original draft of the second Casa Dracula book over at Scribd as a free read. Monster Motel was radically rewritten as Midnight Brunch, so there’s lots of new (or new old) stuff for series fans. Yes, Monster Motel is full of typos and inconsistencies, but it’s a first draft and, best of all, it’s a free read! Please pass along the link.
