Awards

Literary Escapism has been blessed with so many awards lately that I decided it was time to give them their own page so they can be shown off.

October 2008 & March 2010 Amber and Reading with Tequila (respectively) received an I Love Your Blog Award and was sweet enough to nominate me as well! This means I get to spread the love and nominate seven blogs that I simply adore.

December 2008 – Check it out! Amber nominated me for the Kreativ Blogger Award in the category of Best General Book Reviews Blog.  And SciFiGuy nominated me for this award too in the category of Best All-Round Urban Fantasy Blog. That’s two different people who like me! Ahhhh! Now I’m blushing.  I going to go be shy in the corner now.

January 2009Amber has nominated Literary Escapism for a Butterfly Award. I now get to nominate 10 blogs of my own, but I think I am going to take Amber’s approach and name the ones that I have in my RSS feed (as opposed to the dozens in my Google Reader), which means I always know when something has been posted.

January 2009 – Ruth, from Books, Books & More Books, nominated me for the Premios Dardas Award! How awesome is that? This is actually kind of a nifty one too since it acknowledges the values that every blogger shows in his/her effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary and personal values every day.

January 2009 – Check out the lovin’ I’m getting from Sidhe Vicious. She just passed the Rated Excellent Award to me, which recognizes blogs that show true excellence in many ways. Judi actually nominated some really excellent blogs, so make sure you check out her list as well.

March 2009 – I have to thank Sheri, over at A Novel Menagerie, for giving Literary Escapism the Proximidade Award.

This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY-nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this clever-written text into the body of their award.

Want to see who I nominated?

March 2009 – Judi at Sidhevicious Reviews gave me the Your Blog is Fabulous Award! I love hearing that people think my site is fabulous. Because I was nominated, the details stipulate that I need to disclose 5 things that I’m obsessed with or addicted to.

  1. Books. That should be pretty obvious. If you haven’t seen my library or my TBR list, then yeah, I’m obsessed. Just go with it.
  2. Chocolate. I can’t get rid of it. I love the stuff. Yeah, it’s a cliche, but every time I try and diet, I give up chocolate and then the diet only lasts until I come across something good or I’m starving in the check out lane at the grocery store.
  3. Formatting. Do not give me any kind of document that is horrible formatted. Seriously, it’s my one true OCD. I will spend hours trying to get it to be just right. Someone had put together a cookbook for the deep cover baker from the Pampered Chef and I didn’t like it. Eight hours later, I liked it.
  4. Facebook. I’m seriously addicted to it. I’m always on, even if I’m not paying attention, and I’m constantly checking it.
  5. I have to be organized. I’m not sure if it’s an obsession or just whatever, but I can’t stand clutter. Now I’m not saying the organization has to be cleaned, but there has to be a rhyme or reason to it.

March, April and September 2009 – Kimberly at Darque Reviews, Amber at Amberkatze Reviews and Sam from Sam’s Book Blog (respectively) gave Literary Escapism the Zombie Chicken Award.

The blogger who receives this award believes in the Tao of the zombie chicken – excellence, grace and persistence in all situations, even in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. These amazing bloggers regularly produce content so remarkable that their readers would brave a raving pack of zombie chickens just to be able to read their inspiring words. As a recipient of this world-renowned award, you now have the task of passing it on to at least 5 other worthy bloggers. Do not risk the wrath of the zombie chickens by choosing unwisely or not choosing at all…

June 2009 – Annie from The Royal Reviews gave Literary Escapism their weekly Inspirational Review Award for me review of Deadly Desire by Keri Arthur.

I have the first book in the Riley Jenson series sitting in my bookcase and this review of book seven made me want to put it right at the top of the TBR pile. Literary Escapism’s glowing review was exactly the inspiration I needed to dive into this series.

July 2009 – Isabelle from Twisted Fairytales gave LE the Kreativ Blogger award! She’s a new reader of the site and I have to say, I love finding out that people really like me.

September 2009 – Rachel at Enchanted by Books gave Literary Escapism the Superior Scribbler Award!  This is actually a rarely interesting award considering it keeps track of who earns it.  Each blogger who wins is asked to visit this post and add his/her name to a Mr. Linky List.  At the time LE received it, there were 1051 blogs already listed (I was #1052 if you wanna see).  That’s amazing!
