BBAW Future Treasures

So for today’s Book Bloggers Appreciation Week 2010 (BBAW) discussion:

We’ve been visiting each other and getting to know each other better…now is your chance to share what you enjoyed about BBAW and also what your blogging goals are for the next year!

Jackie
This is my third BBAW and I so didn’t get as involved as I have in the past.  I blame part of that on Simon’s arrival since he is now four weeks old.  However, I have discovered a few new blogs and I am totally hoping to pop up around the blogosphere.  I am a huge lurker on more than a couple dozen sites and I know I should probably actually say something more often.  So that’s one of my goals, to not be as much of a lurker.  Other than that, most of my goals focus on making Literary Escapism better in any way I can.

Jennifer
I think that, for me, in the future I just want to be able to write better reviews. Already in my seven or so months with Jackie, the content of my reviews have gotten stronger and easier to understand. I can still remember my first review, and If I’m being honest, it was crap. So all in all, my hope is that I can get even stronger in my book reviewing abilities.

Lisa
This is my first time participating and I really enjoyed it! I loved reading everyone’s answers and am taking away a ton of book and blog recommendations! As for my goals for the next year…it’s to continue to write reviews for Literary Escapism. I’d like to write quality reviews that’ll help turn people on to books they might not have thought to try.

Contest Time! I did say there were going to be daily contests and here’s the first one.  Today’s giveaway is for 2 copies of Heart of the Wolf by Terry Spear, 2 copies of Dark Legacy by Anna Destefano, and the anthologies – Swords and Dark Magic and Mammoth Book of Vampire Romance, meaning there will be three winners.  All you have to do is answer one simple question: What new blogs have you discovered during this years BBAW?

As always, there’s more ways of getting your name in the hat (remember, these aren’t mandatory to enter, just extra entries):

  1. Leave a comment answering the days questions. Yes, I’ll be asking everyone a question and it may be something inquiring minds want to know or it could be something random.  I have no clue yet, but you have to answer the question in order to enter. This is mainly so I don’t see “please enter me”.  That’s too easy.
  2. Post about the contest on your blog, social network, or anywhere you can. Digg it, stumble it, share it with the world. You just have to let me know you did it in the same post as your answer to the question.
  3. Introduce someone new to Literary Escapism. Get them to leave a comment any where on the site, including this contest, and they’ll get entered as well as giving you one more chance to win (they must include in the comment that you sent them).

The contest will stay open until 12 noon on September 18th, at which time I’ll determine the winner with help from the Research Randomizer and the List Randomizer. (Although honestly, winners won’t be announced until this weekend)

I have not been contacting winners, so you will need to check back to see if you’ve won.

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
