Something Wicked has unleashed their new site design.  It’s kind of cool – you should check it out.

Check it out – a 4000 year old vampire grave was found in the Czech Republic.

“Fearing that he might return from the grave, the dead man was sent on his final journey weighed down with a huge stone on his chest and another one on his head. Only the bodies of people believed to be vampires were given such treatment.”

For Weekly Geeks v9.03, the topic was classic literature and I had made the remark about Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice being on everyone’s list and having no desire to read it.  That may change now.  Well, I still wouldn’t read Austen’s version, but maybe Seth Grahame-Smith’s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.  Yup, you saw that right.  Someone has taken a classic and turned it into a zombie novel.  Now that catches my interest.  For more info, check out io9’s article.

The League of Reluctant Adults was given a makeover and has grown a little as well.

The votes are in for the 2008 Urban Fantasy Land Awards.  If you’re wondering how your favorite novel did, check out the results here.

CONTEST ALERT – Patricia’s Vampire Notes has 5 copies of Carrie Vaughn’s Kitty and the Dead Man’s Hand and Kitty Raises Hell to give away.  The contest runs until Feb. 17th, so there’s plenty of time to get your name in.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
