Interviews, Articles, & Buffy

Thanks to Urban Fantasy for pointing out these two interviews.

  1. CE Murphy is in the spotlight over at Milady Insanity.
  2. Rachel Caine is talking to Kimberly over at Darque Reviews.

The Dallas Morning News is running an article on Stephenie Meyer, where they are talking about her fame, upcoming movie, and what it’s like in the limelight.

Jeri Smith-Ready has been making some blog rounds lately. She’s currently writing about her Wicked Game concept over at Simply Romance Reviews and at Fresh Fiction, where the topic is how a person’s personality can be affected by their time and place.

There is also an interview with Patrice Michelle posted up at Fangs, Fur, & Fey.

I keep hearing about Sidhe Vicious’ weblog and I’ve finally taken a stroll over there and I’m liking what I see. She seems to read a lot of what I like, so it’s a great place for me to find new novels (once I get through my own list). I’ll have to keep my eyes on it.

I’m a Buffy fan, so I have all the comics, but this is the first time I’ve seen a review on the eight season. I have to admit, I kind of agree with a lot of what Baron Scarpia says. While it’s great that there is a season 8 of Buffy, some of the story arcs are a little out there for me. If you’re wondering which parts I’m wondering about, think about issue 12 and what happens with Buffy personally. That was so out of character for her that I’m willing wishing they don’t run with it. The other point I’m not crazy about – what happened between Giles and Buffy? He finally shows up during an episode where Faith takes center stage and all we know is that G&B are on the outs. Is this something that resulting from the finale in season seven? Are we going to get any back story on this? Who knows at the moment. While I really haven’t thought of the Buffy comics in a negative light, the Baron does bring up some valid points.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Thanks for the kind mention. :) I also enjoy reading your blog and am liking the new site! I’ve been contemplating moving my blog to WordPress or Blogger, but am somewhat intimidated by the sheer amount of time it will take to manually move each post.

From your current stack of books, I’ve read and highly recommend The Passion by D. Boyd, and Eragon & Eldest by C. Paolini. I loved all three, as well as the second novel by D. Boyd, The Promise.
