Smith-Ready Interview Galore & Articles

Jeri Smith-Ready is all over the place today. She has a great novel that was just released on Friday and I can attest to that since I was able to read it a couple of weeks ago.

  1. Ann Aguirre is interviewing Jeri Smith-Ready about her latest novel, Wicked Game, and other fun things. Ann is also giving away a copy of Wicked Game, so go over and check out the interview and enter her contest.
  2. Rachel Vincent, over at Fangs, Fur, & Fey, also has Jeri Smith-Ready in the hot seat. More talk about Wicked Game including research methods and the first person narration.
  3. John Scalzi’s Whatever blog is also welcoming Jeri Smith-Ready.

I have to congratulate Amber. She’s has a number of her reviews posted in this month’s edition of Bite Me magazine. That is just awesome news. You can see her reviews of: The Outlaw Demon Wails by Kim Harrison, Heart of Stone by C.E Murphy, Happy Hour of the Damned by Mark Henry, Black Woman Magic by Justin Gustainis and Fire Study by Maria Snyder on the page ‘Book Reviews by Amber’.

There is some sad news, however, it seems that even though it has a loyal fan base (although I’ve never seen it) and there have been “save the show” campaigns going on for awhile now, CBS has canceled the vampire television series Moonlight. Here’s are a couple of articles about the cancellation:

  • The article from Entertainment Weekly announcing the news.
  • CBS decision that Moonlight wasn’t that big of a deal, so they canceled it for some “fresh blood”.
  • Moonlight producers confirm the cancellation. “We are truly saddened by the news and are sorry that we won’t get the chance to live with our wonderful characters and follow them on their adventures for a second season.” (E! Online)
  • There’s already talk about Moonlight raising from the grave. There’s a chance that Media Rights Capital may decide to use Moonlight on the CW’s Sunday lineup.
  • Guess what…a SaveMoonlight.com has already sprung up. So if you’re interested it’s a “a centralized source for fans, providing ideas and strategies on how to save the CBS drama, Moonlight.”

In other TV news, New Amsterdam was canceled as well. I saw a couple episodes of the show and while I thought it was okay, it didn’t capture my attention enough to bring me back week after week. Although it is sad to see it go.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
