White Witch Black Curse Contest!

Check out what I’m giving away this week….

Some wounds take time to heal . . . and some scars never fade.

Rachel Morgan, kick-ass witch and bounty hunter, has taken her fair share of hits, and has broken lines she swore she would never cross. But when her lover was murdered, it left a deeper wound than Rachel ever imagined, and now she won’t rest until his death is solved . . . and avenged. Whatever the cost.

Yet the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and when a new predator moves to the apex of the Inderlander food chain, Rachel’s past comes back to haunt her.

Literally.

One lucky commentator has the chance to win:

I know I can’t wait until White Witch, Black Curse is released tomorrow, but if you need a fix sooner, you can read the first 2 chapters as well as the first 5 chapters at these two links.

There are a number of different ways you can get your name in the drawing for this awesome prize, but the one thing you have to do is answer this one question: What are you looking forward to the most in White Witch, Black Curse?  What has been your favorite moment in the Rachel Morgan series? If you don’t answer, there’s no entry. One caveat…this contest is only open to US residents only.

As always, you can do any of the following and get four additional entries:

  • Post about today’s contest on your blog, social network, or anywhere you can. Digg it, stumble it, twit it, share it with the world. Wherever you share it, make sure you add a link to it along with your answer.
  • Join the Literary Escapism blog group and/or Page over on Facebook and you’ll get an additional entry (for each page).  Make sure you leave a comment so I know that’s why you’re joining.  Only new readers to the group will be considered.
  • Subscribe to Literary Escapism’s newsletter in the sidebar. This is for new subscribers only.
  • Purchase any novel in the Rachel Morgan series (through LE’s Amazon store) sometime during this contest and send a copy of the receipt via email for your purchase to: myjaxon AT gmail DOT com.

I’ll determine the winner with help from the Research Randomizer. All entries must be in by midnight on March 2nd.

I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. I am most looking forward to seeing how this new agreement between Al and Rachel will work. Is he honest in his intentions, or is he just trying to trick her into giving him a child? And how will finding out she is part demon affect Rachel and her relationship to the people around her?

I have so many favorite moments in these books. Up until the last book, the pixy children’s antics around the church were my favorite little scenes, but in The Outlaw Demon Wails, when Al traps Rachel in a circle, and says, see how it feels? And suddenly, her world view, and the reader’s, shifts.

    That’s good writing. : )

  2. I’m looking forward to seeing how things will continue with Rachel and Ivy, will their relationship go further or will it stay where it is. . . . I also want to know about Al and Rachel’s agreement will Al be honest or will be try and take Rachel again. . . . . Not to mention all the other characters in this series, how’s Jinx and the kids?

My fave moment in this series??? WOW! That is really hard to pinpoint sense I love the whole thing!!!! I guess if I had to say one thing though I’d have to say that it was when Rachel is learning to hold the power inside her and when she was finally able to hold the extra energy inside her. . . of course I was holding the book while jumping up and down

This is a great series with a strong plot that hasn’t faded like many but keeps going strong

  3. Really like the angsty feel between Rachel and Ivy and seeing if it is further developed, but the great thing about Ms. Harrison’s works is how she makes you feel you have a vested interest in each of the characters, no matter how minor.

My favorite moment of the series? I believe it’s in the first novel when Rachel agrees to be Al’s familiar and the elf lady (drawing a blank on her name here) is freed. She’s described so well and she goes through such a transformation putting the pieces of her personality back together. Then again, the vision of a proper gentleman dragging Rachel down the street strikes me as funny, too. Really a lot of special moments in this series.

  4. > What are you looking forward to the most in White Witch, Black Curse?

    Seeing more of Ivy.

    > What has been your favorite moment in the Rachel Morgan series?

I’m going to say the shape changing spell in the first book. For some reason that is still what I think of first when I think about this series.

  5. What are you looking forward to the most in White Witch, Black Curse?

I can’t wait to see how the relationship between Rachel and Ivy further develops. Also, even though I know he’s dead, I keep hoping Kist will reappear.

What has been your favorite moment in the Rachel Morgan series?
Hmm…probably when Rachel and Kisten got together.

  6. I want to find out who killed Kisten. And I really want him to come back too.

My favorite moment was when Jenks became human sized.

  7. Like a lot of others, I really what to know who killed Kisten. He was one of my favorite characters (behind Jenks) and I still miss reading about him.

A lot of my favorite moments are with Rachel & Trent. I loved it when she crashed his wedding and arrested him. LOL! I also enjoyed it when she helped him put his Halloween costume together. They have some great interactions. I also loved when Jenks first became big and was getting used to it. So funny.

    Thanks!

  8. I think that the second book, The Good, the Bad, and the Undead was probably my favorite because that’s when the storyline really took off for me.

I would love to see more of Jenks home life in the newest book. His family is hilarious.

    Deidre

  9. I think I’m most looking forward to finding out who killed Kistin. I truly hope he or she ends up with the same fate as Piscary. Oh and how Rachel’s agreement with Al will work out.

My favorite moments in this series where the ones with Kistin in them. Even if he wasn’t totally a vampire, he was one of my favorite vampires.

  10. hmm, I’m not sure what I am looking forward to most, I guess just seeing what happens next. My favorite moment….. there have been a lot, I think when Jenks got big. I love him, and it was awesome to have him like that.
