IAndrews-Silver SharkJust a heads up…now that I’m getting back on schedule with the news post, they may appear shorter than normal.  Will this be a bad thing? *grin*

Heroes and Heartbreakers has posted an excerpt from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s upcoming Dream-Hunter novel, The Guardian, which will be out.

Ilona Andrews has posted the first two chapters, plus a little more, of a new science fiction novel they are currently working on. Since the two excerpts were posted, Andrews has also posted the cover for Silver Shark.  Ain’t it fabulous?  There are always more fabulous covers that have been popping up. Author Appearances:

Tim Burton and Johnny Depp have finally announced the casting for their upcoming movie, Dark Shadows, which will be out May 11, 2012.  Don’t worry, Helena Bonham Carter has been confirmed as being a part of the cast.

Fabulous news for Outlander fans.  Diana Gabaldon has announced the title for the eighth Outlander novel.  I’m still not sure when it’s going to be released, but we’ll get more Jamie and Claire with Written in My Heart’s Own Blood.

Galaxy Express has a ton of SFR links and news to check out for September.

Wicked Scribes, in her infinite wisdom, has found a bunch of new release info, which will be included in the next update of the new releases page.

New Black & White Cover Contest Winner

I have some sad news. The winner for Cat Patrick’s Forgotten never contacted me. The good news, however, is that now I get to draw a new name. Just as a reminder, in order to enter, everyone had to answer the question What are you currently (have just finished) reading and why should we (or not) read it? Or, if you’re not reading anything at the moment, which August release are you anxiously waiting for? Without further ado, the winners are:

Forgotten – KAYLA B who said: Currently I’m rereading the Harry Potter series for the 10th or 11th time. For anyone that hasn’t read it or thinks it is more of a childrens series and won’t because of that needs to at least give it a shot. It’s not for everyone but it is an extremely well written, entertaining series. Waiting on a few books to be released but I’d have to say I’m eagerly awaiting Bloodlines by Richelle Mead. I absolutely love her different series. Can’t wait to start another one by her.
