Black Friday: Terry Spear

Black FridayBlack Friday is here and we’re discussing the season with Terry Spear’s Jake Silver from Dreaming of the Wolf.

A FIERCE HUNTER…
Alicia Greiston is a no-nonsense bounty hunter determined to bring a ring of mobsters to justice. Her dogged pursuit of the crime family has forced her to avoid relationships— any man would only become a target for retribution. Luckily, Jake Silver is more than a man, and his instincts are telling him to stop at nothing to protect her.

AN ANIMAL PASSION…
However, the mob isn’t entirely human either, and soon Alicia must flee for her life. When Alicia and Jake’s passion begins to spill over into their dreams, Jake learns he will have to do more than defend her— he’ll have to show his mate the way of the wolf.

Make sure you stick around to the end. We’ll be giving away two copies of Dreaming of the Wolf.

When Wolves Go Holiday Shopping

TSpear-Dreaming of the WolfThe last experience Jake Silver had to shop for his mate to be, Alicia, here’s what happened:

Normally, Jake wouldn’t have been caught dead in a lingerie store. Certainly not that one. The women loved to get the corsets for the annual Victorian Era Day for some fun after the celebration, although without a mate, Jake hadn’t thought he’d ever get to partake in that part of the fun. The difficult part for the ladies seemed to be trying to pick just one. Lisa Grae, the thirty-year-old owner, was dressed in a conservative pale-blue dress. She raised her brows to see him come into the shop.

“Why, Jake, what brings you here? And at this time of night?” She sounded more than surprised.

“I need some things for a woman who’s staying with us.”

“Oh. Can she visit and—”

“No.”

“But her size. Did she tell you what—”

“She’s in the car in her wolf form and has no clothes.”

Lisa glanced out the window and frowned. “Oh. Is Sheriff Peter posing as a bodyguard?”

“Yeah.”

She sighed. “All right. So you’re not looking for anything fun. Just functional.”

No, he wasn’t looking just for functional. But he let Lisa lead him to the racks of bras anyway. He ran his fingers over the lacy cups, then the satin ones. He picked up red ones, one lace, one satin, the one without any padding, the other with padding beneath the breasts. He didn’t know which Alicia would prefer so he would get both.

“Are you certain that’s her cup size?”

He put his hand around the cup and nodded. “Appears right.”

“Hmm,” Lisa said, smiling, and the sound she made was one of speculation. Then she took him to a rack of panties. He selected three pairs of bikini panties in red.

“Maybe a pair of white?”

He shook his head. Red suited her.

Then he looked back at the royal blue corset.

“What about nightwear? A robe or something?”

But now he couldn’t tear his gaze away from the body hose that a couple of mannequins were wearing. One was a seductive fishnet, long-sleeved body stocking with an open crotch, and the other, a spaghetti-strapped sheer fishnet body stocking, also with an open crotch. Envisioning Alicia wearing any of it made him hard and wanting.

“A robe?” Lisa repeated, drawing his attention reluctantly from the body stockings.

He fingered a sheer, red-lace short robe.

Lisa smiled and folded her arms. “Does she wear a lot of red?”

He glanced at Alicia watching him through the Suburban window and thought about it, but he didn’t remember her wearing anything but white.

“I’ll take this,” he said, picking out a red shirt-like baby doll that reached just below the crotch, sheer enough to be revealing, but opaque enough to entice. He hastily paid for the garments, thanked Lisa, and headed for the door.

Alicia might not wear red normally, but he knew she’d look hot in all of it.

***

So you can see what happens when Jake goes shopping for Alicia. For the holidays, he knows more what her size is now, only it’s rapidly changing since she’s pregnant with triplets. He’s taking older brother Darien’s advice—a soft robe, special creams to rub on her back and belly, a special pillow to help her with sleeping on restless nights, and soft warm slippers. Of course, he still likes them to be red.

And because she loves his photos of wildflowers so much, he’s giving her one of his favorite—purple, blue and white irises and crocuses blooming while surrounded by snow—a promise of new life in the New Year.

He thinks about the fact she loves purple so much and wonders—maybe he should add a lilac gown to her Christmas presents. Red and purple make a nice contrast, don’t they?

Now who wouldn’t like a wolfish guy like that to go Christmas shopping for them? What do you think? Does it sound like a winning assortment of Christmas gifts for a momma werewolf expecting triplets?

Thanks so much for having me at Literary Escapism, and hope everyone is able to escape from the trials of everyday life to really enjoy the holidays!

Happy Hectic Holidays, everyone! I need my wolf pack to help keep me organized! What about you???

  2. I would get the werewolf momma a WII which she can use when the babes are born. It’ll keep them distracted.

  3. a nanny!! (a supernatural one of course).. she will be able to help with the children, wont bat an eye if they turn fuzzy or grow fangs..

  4. I’m rotfl again at Jake at Victoria Secrets. Ok I’ll buy the Werewolf Mamma a Spa Weekend. She’ll need to be pampered. Her life will be stressful from now on. OMG!! 3 pups all at once.

  5. Na, that sounds like a great gift for a hectic momma!

LOL, Alaina, about a supernatural nanny. A must for job applications. Can you deal with very sharp teeth and shedding?

Michelle, teething rings and chew toys! :)

Mary Jo, you and I were thinking alike! Bubble bath sounds great…you should see the mess Meara makes with bubble bath in A SEAL in Wolf’s Clothing. :)

Donna, oh yeah, a spa for the momma would be very much needed with three babies all at once.

Caitlin, knitted blankets are a great idea and teething rings a must.

Sabrena, lol, when I read that I was thinking you meant like wolf skin. But I KNOW you didn’t mean that. LOL!

    Thanks, ladies! :)

  6. I would get a mama werewolf expecting triplets some comfy shoes because those three pups are a lot to carry around. And I’d give her some babysitting vouchers so she could have some time off after they’re born.

  7. Hmmm, so many things to choose from. Harnesses, Leashes, and a talk to her pack who better be helping mom and letting her get some much needed rest.

  8. I would get her a gift card for home depot because she will definately need to do repairs for the house. Then a momma day with mani, pedi and massages.

  10. Thank you for the giveaway! I’d give a momma werewolf a huge supply of red meat, some squeeky toys and a T.V. to distract the little ones, some tylenol and a large supply of coffee for her and a phone number of a counselor just in case she gets frustrated and needs to talk. Happy :) Holidays!

  11. I’d get a mama werewolf who’s expecting triplets a giftcard for the nearest baby & toddler shopping center & let her pick & choose what she may or may not need. As for the mama herself I’d definitely go with a spa retreat or something, as well as tell her darling husband to woo her & make her feel special, cause he’s darn lucky that she hasn’t killed him yet
