Author Appearances:

CGarner-Secret of the WolfStumbling Over Chaos has posted  the 100th edition of the Misadventures in Stock Photography, and she’s celebrating by featuring the model who started this all- Candy Cane Guy.  If you haven’t checked out this fantastic feature yet, you really need to.  It’s amazing how much some stock photography get used and how many models you might actually recognize.

People keep telling me that I really should read more and more young adult fiction, but then something comes along and reminds me why I don’t.  I’m a thirty-something mom and I really don’t want to read about juvenile behavior or be constantly reminded that the main character is “oh so young”.  However, I do give some series a try and was planning on picked the House of Night series back up, but there’s no way in hell I’m going to. I’m sorry, but if I don’t want my characters acting like children, I definitely don’t want my authors to be doing it either.  How else can one explain why PC Cast involved a readers complaints in her novel?  Okay, so a mom didn’t like the fact that she use the word retard in her books. Big deal.  There are worse words out there, but don’t argue about it via your books or in public.  That’s just childish.  That’s all I’m saying on this matter, but if you want to read more, check out what Wicked Little Pixie and The Bookpushers has had to say.

About Jackie 3273 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
