Look Who’s Going to RT: Kate Pearce

Can you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
I’m Kate Pearce, ex-Brit and mother of 4. I grew up outside London and now live near San Francisco with my family, which includes a daft dog, 2 cats, a tarantula and a leopard gecko. I write mainly historical erotic romance for Kensington Aphrodisia but have been known to write paranormals and simply steamy romances for anyone else who will let me.

Can you introduce us to the world that you have created?
I’ll talk a bit about the Regency world of the Simply…series (Simply Sexual, Simply Sinful, Simply Shameless, Simply Wicked,  Simply Insatiable, Simply Forbidden, Simply Carnal and Simply Voracious). A lot of people get the rather prudish Victorian view of the world mixed up with what came before-the Regency, which was a time of war, revolution and some distinctly un pc behavior amongst the upper classes. My Regency isn’t the world of Almacks, and balls and dainty kisses, it’s the darker world of soldiers returning from war, spies, secret brothels and illicit sexual behavior that was acceptable as long as no one knew about it, and you behaved yourself impeccably in public. (The British are very good at this LOL)

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
This will be my third RT. My advice to anyone who is going is to pace yourself. It can get pretty crazy there if you try and do everything. :)

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to?
Yes, I am speaking on a panel for the erotica/erotic romance forum. It’s called What’s Your Preference? and it is on Wednesday 2:15 to 3:15.
I’m planning on attending all the panels that look like they have audience participation as they are always fun! I’ll also be at the Kensington, and Ellora’s Cave happenings, as I write for both publishers.

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
I’m dark haired, average height and have an English accent, despite living in the U.S. for 14 years.
