Blood & Skin

Lurv a la Mode has the cover for Richelle Mead’s fourth Vampire Academy book, Blood Promise, which is slated to come out August 25, 2009. Kmont also has the blurb for it, but huge warning, the blurb is a huge spoiler. So if you haven’t read the series yet, I wouldn’t read it.

Rachel Vincent has revealed the title to her third Soul Screamers novel.  With a tentative release date, My Soul to Take, will be out November 1st.  The first novel, My Soul to Take, will be out August 1st and My Soul to Save will follow it on October 1st.

Spectacular Nalini Singh news.  She’s contracted for FOUR more Psy-Changeling novels!  Singh announced it today and I can’t wait to see who she’s going to be writing about next.  I already know I can’t wait for Branded by Fire to come out July 7th.

Interviews:

I just saw this post on Ward’s new novel, Covet and it mentions that:

It has also been confirmed that the Brothers WILL be making appearances in the series.

And before you get your hopes up, Lassiter is NOT one of the Fallen Angels in Ward’s new series.

There’s even an unconfirmed (but very likely) blurb for Covet posted up at Lovin’ Me Some Romance.

For those of you who have read Magic Strikes, you know the bet between Kate and Curran that involves dinner?  Well, Ilona Andrews has put up the dinner scene at her site.  It’s juicy and so typically awesome that I really want to know when the fourth book is coming out.

Jeri Smith-Ready now has titles for her first two YA novels.  Shade and Shift will both come out in hardcovers and Shade will be out May 15, 2010.  Shift will follow a year later.

Check out the nifty cover Ann Aguirre has for her new Ava Gray novel, Skin Game. There’s even a blurb:

A beautiful fugitive—wanted dead or alive.
Kyra is a con woman and a particular kind of thief. She steals with a touch, but she only takes one thing: her target’s strongest skill. Which means she can be a fighter, an athlete, a musician, an artist—anything she wants… for a limited time. Heartbroken, she turns her gift toward avenging her father’s murder; with deadly patience, Kyra works her way into casino owner Gerard Serrano’s inner circle. After pulling off the ultimate con, she flees with his money and his pride.

A hit man who never misses the mark.
Reyes has nothing but his work. Pity for Kyra, he’s the best and mercy never sways him once he takes a job. He’s been hired to find out where Kyra hid the cash—and bring her back to face Serrano’s “justice.” Dead will do, if he can’t locate the loot. He’s never failed to complete a contract, but Kyra tempts him with her fierce heat and her outlaw heart. So Reyes has a hell of a choice: forsake his word or kill the woman he might love.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Thanks for mentioning my Damian Daily blog and author interview with Aprilynne Pike. I’m so glad you did because now I have discovered your fantastic blog. Sounds like your theme of literary escapism is exactly in line with what I love to read about most.
OH! You’re my new favorite blogger fyi

  2. Hey Jackie!

“Skin Game” sounds wonderful! Putting it on my To Buy List for Nov.

It has three of my very fav book themes — a con artist, a hit man, plus it’s got paranormal elements.

Have not yet read Ann Aguirre … Ava Gray must be a new pen name?

Great job on your bloggie, as always.
