I so can not be the first one to have seen this, so what have I missed? Considering it’s from the people behind Hero and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and it looks freaking amazing, something tells me I need to figure out a babysitter when it hits theaters in the US.
Here’s the basic writeup from Films & Movies
On the surface, Saya is a stunning 16-year-old, but that youthful exterior hides the tormented soul of a 400-year-old “halfling.” Born to a human father and a vampire mother, she has for centuries been a loner obsessed with using her samurai skills to rid the world of vampires, all the while knowing that she herself can survive only on blood like those she hunts. When she is sent onto an American military base in Tokyo by the clandestine organization she works for, Saya immediately senses that this may be her opportunity to finally destroy Onigen, the evil patriarch of all vampires. Using her superhman strength and her sword, she begins to rid the base of its evil infestation in a series of spectacular and elaborate showdowns. However, it is not until she forms her first human friendship in centuries with the young daughter of the base’s general that Saya learns of her greatest power over Onigen may well be her ability for human connection.

I have seen this trailer but I can’t remember where. Maybe before Underworld: Rise of the Lycans?
There’s an anime version that I watched several weeks ago. It was dark–very dark, and it didn’t leave you with any easy answers for all of the violence and despair at the end, either. It was good, though.
I saw this advertised at Terminator Salvation I believe they had it on the previews. It looks really good! I hope its released in KS but I doubt it will be. I’ll have to check it out when it comes out on DVD
i just loved it !
and i’m convinced it is much more better than what is told everywhere.
It is as good as the animé version and i really enjoyed it.
Look at the mash-up, if you’re not sure : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BH3A4fRmmk
wow, this looks fantastic!
This movie looks fan-freaking-tastic. Gotta watch out for this one.
The anime it is based on is supposed to be a real classic. I will defintely be doing my best to tracak this down in the cinema (it’s out here in the UK next weekend I think).
