Adrian’ Phoenix’s second novel, In The Blood, has a new cover. I kinda like it and I’m not all that familiar with her stuff. Book covers are definitely one way to get my attention and I’ve been known to read a book simply because I like the cover. I think I’ll have to move her up on my “to get at the library” list. In the Blood comes out December 30th and is the follow up novel to A Rush of Wings. At least that is the impression I’m getting from her website.
I haven’t read anything by Neil Gaimon, but I’m told he’s the author to check out for really good fantasy and it seems he’s been doing a few online freebie novels. It was announced that his second one, Neverwhere, will be out sometime in September, but that is so not official yet. His first online freebie novel was, American Gods, is available here.
We’ve heard that Kim Harrison is working on your first young adult novel and now it has a name. The novel, Once Dead, Twice Shy, is set to come out May 2009. We’re given a taste of the story in the anthology Prom Nights from Hell, so if you’re like me and have been keeping an eye out for it, you should definitely try picking up a copy. While I don’t believe its in direct relation with the new young adult series, Harrison’s story in the anthology Hotter Than Hell involves the banshee Mia who has a daughter named Holly. I know the YA series will be about a banshee in the same world as the Rachel Morgan series, so it’s possible we’re given a glimpse into a part of the new series. Just don’t quote me on this though.
Something new, here’s a review of the Twilight script. Not the novel, but the words behind the film. From what little I’ve read already, it seems like it could be as good as the novel.
PC and Kristin Cast will be at Indigo Bay & Bloor in Toronto, Ontario on Monday August 18th beginning at 7p.m. For directions and more information, click here.
Adrian Phoenix is definitely worth moving up on your tbr pile…she is amazing! A Rush of Wings was absolutely great and I am almost finished with In The Blood and it is just as good as the first!
You should give her a try!
