Proud to Have a Headache

I know that sounds odd, but I’m actually kind of proud of this headache I have.  I’m not one who suffers from headaches, but a few things tend to trigger them off: (1) reading in a moving vehicle for long periods of time or (2) reading out loud for long periods of time.  For this one, I read out loud to Ian for a little too long.  However, I couldn’t stop considering he kept bringing me books to read to him.  My little monkey is going to be a bookworm if he keeps this up.

Jeaniene Frost just sold Complex Chinese rights for both Night Huntress novels!  Sweetness.  Plus, she has the At Grave’s End wallpaper up and it is shiny!

I’ve never read anything by T.A. Pratt, but after seeing his covers on Dan Dos Santos’ site and then this new one for Spell Games, I’m really going to have to bump them up on my list. The easiest way to get me to buy a novel, especially one I’ve never seen or heard of, is to show me a fabulous cover and all of his are just spectacular. Thankfully, this one isn’t due out until Feb 24, 2009, so I’ll have some time to read the rest of them – Blood Engines, Poison Sleep, and Dead Reign.

Also, in other news, Amazon now has preorder links up for Jeri Smith-Ready’s Bad to the Bone and Rachel Vincent’s Pride.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
