The Kindle has arrived! I thought it was going to show up yesterday, but when I checked the order status, it said its estimated arrival date was the 9th. Sigh. So I was to left to wait a few more days.
Ian and I went to the Toledo Zoo today with Nana and Grandma. What does that have to do with my Kindle…easy, it came while we were gone and when I called Jesse to let him know we were on our way home, he said he was in the process of setting up my new toy so I would be able to play with it when I got home. I love my husband. He said he thought about waiting to open it until I got home, but he knew I would want to play with it. So he had it all set up for me tonight.
The best thing about this, it came with Must Love Hellhounds. I seriously don’t remember buying the Kindle version since I’ve been debating buying it at the bookstore. I just thought yesterday that I’ll hold off buying it so it could be my first purchase with the Kindle. That was a most excellent surprise to find it there. Who knows. Maybe I did buy it and I’ll find out later, but right now, I’m going to give credit to the book fairies and hope they send more my way.
So instead of Must Love Hellhounds, my first purchase with the Kindle was The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong. I have a signed copy of The Awakening, so I needed to get it at some point – so I killed 2 birds with 1 stone.
Now that I have an ereader, my ebook review policy will change in the future. However, it’s not going to right away because I really need to get my TBR shelf cleaned off. If you have an ebook you want me to review, you can submit a request, but I’m going to be very picky. If you’re an author I’ve reviewed before, chances are you’ll get accepted, but I’m not making any promises right now.
Alright, I’m going to go play with it now. I’ll have a pretty long news post up on Monday since I’ve been MIA with them the past couple of days. If you’re lacking your news fix, SciFiGuy has his Weekend Report up, which his generally pretty packed.
I got my Kindle a few months back and I just love it!!
Please let me know what you think of it. I actually bought a sonyebook yesterday when I saw my first one in the store. I returned it today. I was disappointed by the limited book store, I wanted to use Amazon. Also I read (after the fact) that Kindle is easier to use. I am sitting on the fence because now I don’t keep all my paperbacks, I usually swap them (it helps controll my book budget). With the readers, I lose that option. So I will be watching for your posts to see how it goes. Thanks.
Have fun! I love my Kindle! Amazon also has a bunch of free fantasy books (usually the first in a series), but it’s a great way to discover new stuff – free! Enjoy!
Hi Jackie! So happy for you! I dont have an E Reader yet and have always wanted one. It must be so exciting to finally have one! :) Have fun with it.
Congrats! I don’t have a kindle, but I do have the Kindle app on my iTouch. I have a bunch of the free amazon books on there, but I haven’t bought anything yet. I really haven’t bought any books in probably MONTHS..yeah, wow, right? I do a lot of swapping, and lately I’ve been pretty lucky at winning copies of books I really want to read, lol.
Have fun with your new toy!
