Demon’s Fury / Demon’s Vow / Inner Demon by Jocelynn Drake

When I heard the news that Jocelynn Drake would be releasing another Asylum Tales novel, I squee’d with glee and anxiously awaited to get a copy.  As you know, the final story Gage has to tell is released in a serial format: Demon’s Fury, Demon’s Vow and Inner Demon.  Rather than doing three reviews, I’m doing them in one.  While I love the story, I’m greatly disappointed in the ending and feel there is so much more for Gage to tell.

What I loved: Jocelynn’s writing, the action. Gage is well…Gage. He dives head first and doesn’t care (or think) about the possible consequences to himself. He does it for his friends, and for the citizens of Low Town.  He also has a personal stake in solving the mystery of who is behind the attacks.  There is a LOT revealed through the story, and as such, there is a LOT of action going on. I love action :).

What made me sad: How the story, and the series, apparently ended. I won’t give it away, but as I kept reading, I kept thinking…OK, how is Jocelynn going to fix this? How will she make things right? All I’ll say is…I hope to hell she’s got more of Gage in her. I’d love for her to self-pub (if possible). I’m also not above begging Harper Voyager to contract one more, so we can get the real ending, the one I have to believe is there, waiting to be told.

Overall, I was just left feeling “WTH just happened?! It cannot *end* like that!” I love the series, I love the world and I adore Jocelynn and her writing style.  While I absolutely recommend fans read these, just a fair warning, you may want to throw the books at the end.
