Weekly Geeks #19 – Top Books in 2008

Now it’s time for Weekly Geeks #19 and this week it’s all about our top picks for 2008.  Actually, Dewey has a lot planned for this theme and it’s going to expand over the next couple of weeks/months.  You always see these “Top Whatever” lists that the newspapers/publishers put out and now Dewey wants to do one of strictly book bloggers.  That’s right, she’s putting together one for us.  So this week, Dewey is asking everyone to come up with their top 10 lists.  If you see a Top 10 list somewhere else, add it to the Mr. Linky, even if they aren’t part of Weekly Geeks.  She’s trying to gather as many lists as she can, so she can come up with a nice comprehensive list.  Then at a later date, once all the lists are made, she’s going to put it up for a vote.  Hopefully, she’ll get a good turnout and we’ll have an awesome list going.

Now, the idea is to only choose books that were published in 2008, regardless of what country you live in.  So, here are the books that I am/was eagerly waiting for that have come out this year…

  1. At Grave’s End by Jeaniene Frost (Dec. 30, 2008)

  9. One Silent Night by Sherrilyn Kenyon (Nov. 4, 2008)
  10. The Devil’s Due by Jenna Black (Nov. 25, 2008)

I put in some honorable mentions because I was eagerly awaiting them, but I hadn’t gone nuts waiting for them.  Or they weren’t as good as all the hype made them to be.  There were just so many good books that came out this year. Now that you know what mine are, what are yours?  If you need a refresher on what’s been published this year, check out my newsletters.  Each month I post a newsletter with that month’s releases plus all other sorts of news – look for the newest one on Oct. 1st!.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
