Starfinder & Octupi

John Marco, fantasy author of The Devil’s Armor, is giving us a glimpse of the cover art for his new novel Starfinder, set to be released May 2009. The cover art was done by the amazing Tom Kidd. He’s also running a contest for a copy of The Devil’s Armor over at his blog, so make sure you go over and check it out.

Interviews:

Stainless Steel Droppings has an interview with artist Anne-Julie Aubry. She’s an unknown to me, but after seeing some of her work, it’s pretty amazing.  This piece of hers is called Octopus Garden.

Recently, I’ve come across a new book blog that has really caught my eye.  It’s called Today I Read.  FIrst off, I have to say that I love the theme.   The journal look also gives a clue as to how Ann-Kat writes a little.

Urban Fantasy Land has another one of their Free Reading Fridays, so if you’re looking for a quick fix, go check her list.

Today’s Book a Day by Anya Bast is the Into the Darkness by Delilah Devlin.  This is one book I’ve been hearing about and haven’t seen yet, so I’m heading over there for sure.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. That piece is very beautiful. It has a majestic quality to it that –this might sound corny– leaves me a little breathless. I’m following the link to SSD.

I agree with you about Ann-Kat. I came across her site a couple weeks ago and love it.

    Thanks for the info.

  2. I have to say that I’ve never heard of Anne-Julie Aubry before, but her artwork is stunning. It slightly reminds me of Audrey Kawasaki’s work, another artist who fascinates me. Both seem to have a very diaphanous, ethereal, whimsical style with a drop of darkness, which I love.

Also, thanks for the link love. Glad you like Today I Read enough to mention it. Totally made my day. :)
