Twilight, Prisms, and Other Shiney Stuff

Ever wondered which dragon sept you would belong to? Katie MacAlister has finally come to our rescue. Go check out her Dragon Oracle to see where you would belong. Guess where I’m at:

You have a touch of the thrill-seeker to you, enjoy a challenge, have a greater than normal need to acquire things, and are stubborn. You would do well with the Green Dragon Sept.

Weekly Geeks is looking to compile a reader’s top 10 books published in 2008 and we want everyone to join in.  What we need from everyone is for them to post their top 10 books that were published in 2008 and then leave a link with Mr. Linky at the Weekly Geeks #19 post.  If you don’t have a blog or social network to post it, then email me and I’ll post it here for you.  For our first reader’s pick, check out Crystal Dee’s list.

Jocelynn Drake is going to be in an anthology with Melissa Marr, Vicki Petterrson, Jeaniene Frost, and Kim Harrison which is going to be called Unbound.  It’s due out in August 2009 and with all the authors listed here, it sounds like it’s going to be an awesome compilation.

Interviews:

Caitlin Kittredge has just sold a new YA fantasy trilogy called the Iron Codex, which beings with The Witch’s Alphabet, to Delacorte.  The series is set in a Lovecraftian industrial city in an alternate 1950s and involves a gift mechanic who must solve the riddle of why her family goes crazy at the age of 16.

The Prism awards were given out and two of my favorite authors made the list.  Sunny was lucky and was honored in 3 different categories – Erotica (Mona Lisa Blossoming), Novella (Over the Moon), and Fantasy (Lucinda, Darkly). Jeri Smith-Ready made the list as well with Voice of Crow in the Fantasy category.

And, we’re getting closer to the premier of Twilight and they’ve released a new video. If you’re not excited about it yet, then take a look at this.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
