The LE Chat Room

Last night, Jesse and I unleashed a new feature for Literary Escapism – an online chat room.  That’s right, LE now has an online chat room, well sort of.  It’s still very much in beta form, but since we could use the help in breaking it (so we can find the bugs), we figured we would unveil it sooner rather than later.

What I’m hoping to use the online chat room for is a monthly book club as well as doing live author chats.  The book club idea is still in the works (what does everyone think of that idea?), but the live author chats is a definite go.  In fact, there’s already one lined up.  On July 8th at 9pm EST, Chloe Neill will be joining the room and discussing all things Chloe Neill as well as focusing on her new release, Twice Bitten.  If this works, you can totally expect more in the future as I’ve discovered a love for live interviews.

The online chat room is completely web-based and any system should be able to load it (if you can’t email me at jackie AT literaryescapism Dot com).  Jesse and I want to make sure everything is working flawlessly (or as close as we can be) prior to July 1st, so please pop in with a few friends and see what you can do.  I would really like to see what happens when 50+ people join at one time, so tell everyone about it.  Just please don’t destroy it.  *grin*  I have been consistently logged into the online chat room since we unleashed it, but I’m not always paying attention, but I do not have to be in there for anyone to use it.

Any questions, let me know or just jump into the online chat room and ask me.  If it’s after 8pm EST, I’m generally close by since the monkey is in bed.  It’s the day light hours where I’ll be flaky.

Interviews:

  • Tad Williams, author of Shadowrise, by Fantasy Book Critic

There’s good news for fans of David Tenant.  According to Rabid Doll Horror, he was just casted as Peter Vincent in the upcoming movie Fright Night.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
