Not Another One…

If you’ve just join me at Literary Escapism, then you probably weren’t around for the release of the last Mary Janice Davidson cover for Undead and Unworthy.  I personally hated that cover since it varied so much with what the rest of the series looked like and it didn’t portray Betsy to me at all.  However, now, I have to say that it is far better than the cover for Undead and Unwelcome, the 8th novel in the Betsy series.  Seriously, does Betsy not look like a horribly done, badly made, Barbie doll?  I understand that MJD’s publishers want to distinguish her novels from other, but I don’t think they are doing it in a positive light.

And yet again, the Brits do it better….

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. I’ve missed the last three of these I think. When I first discovered them I sat down and read them all but I haven’t picked up anything by this author in awhile. I don’t even remember the series that well :(

  2. So true. Not even a “real girl” (see Lars and the Real Girl), but very much so a Barbie. I thought that even before I read your notes here. It’s her neck. And her nose. Her arm. Looks too plastic, stilted, with those straight lines…

Worldwide free postage? Woot! Thanks for sharing that with us, Amber :-)

MJB will be at ARRC09. Wonder if I should get my photo taken with her, even though I’ve never read her stuff (and don’t really plan to). Same goes for SK/KMcG. Would it up my street cred? ;-)

    Have a lovely day! :-)
