Bookworms Carnival

Dewey over at the Hidden Side of a Leaf has been hosting a Bookworms Carnival, which is basically a monthly book club. At least, that is what it seems like to me. The idea is there is a theme for each month and reviewers read a book from each theme and then submit a review to whoever is hosting for that month. Next month’s carnival is being hosted by Nymeth and her theme is Fairy Tales.

You may be wondering why I’m bringing this up…simple. I’ll be hosting the carnival, but not for a few months. However, the idea behind this is great and it gives me a chance to read novels that I normally wouldn’t. I think I am going to try and submit a review for this month’s theme. I have a couple of novels I’m thinking of doing, but I can’t make up my mind.

  1. Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire
  2. Faeire Tale by Raymond Feist
  3. The Fairy Godmother by Mercedes Lackey

Now I just have to pick which one.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. I’ve made up my mind. I know which book I’m going to read. None of the ones listed above. I completely forgot that I want to read the Claiming of Sleeping Beauty by A. N. Roquelaure (Anne Rice). I’ve been wanting to read this for awhile and it’s been sitting on my shelves, waiting patiently, so this is the perfect opportunity for it. So look for a review over the next week. It isn’t that big of a novel, so hopefully it won’t take me too long.
