Swag Bag Contest

During the first weekend of June, Lori Foster and Dianne Castell host the Annual Author/Reader Get Together, and Jesse and I ended up going to this year (if you want to see the few pics I got, click here). The hubby actually registered for a author/readers con – one that was heavily populated with romance authors. Needless to say, I owe the hubby a lot for going with me, especially considering he also got all the perks for registering and is letting me give them away here on the site.

Swag Contest 6/14That’s right. I have two fabulous swag prize packs that are just dying to find a home that will love and cherish them since the hubby will not. *grin* I have two bundles I’m giving away.  The first one includes:

  1. All sorts of promotional items from a wide range of authors that attended the Get Together (as well as bookmarks, trading cards, etc)
  2. An official Annual Author/Reader Get Together bag
  3. A copy of the Trick or Treat Anthology
  4. A copy of Fatal Vision by Monette Michaels
  5. A signed copy of Angie Fox’s A Tale of Two Demon Slayers.

Swag Contest 6/14The second bundle includes:

  1. A few promotional items from a wide range of authors that attended the Get Together (as well as bookmarks, trading cards, etc)
  2. An author bag that is as yet undetermined.
  3. A copy of The Case of the Virtuous Vampire by Monette Michaels
  4. An ARC of Wickedly Charming by Kristine Grayson
  5. A signed sampler of the Sinful Sensations anthology.

Disclaimer: Each bundle consists of anything I had two of, with any single items going to the first prize.  Bookmarks, trading cards and a few other paper items are not shown.

Would you like to get your hands on one of these prize packages?  To enter, all you have to do is answer this one question: If you could only make it to one reader conference, which one would you go to and why? Remember, you must answer the question in order to be entered.

As always, there’s more ways of getting your name in the hat (remember, these aren’t mandatory to enter, just extra entries):

  • +1 to any review you comment on, however, comments must be meaningful. Just give me the title of the review and I’ll be able to figure it out from there.
  • +1 If you are a follower of Literary Escapism on Facebook and/or Twitter
  • +10 Purchase any novel through LE’s Amazon store or the Book Depository sometime during this contest and send a copy of the receipt VIA email for your purchase to: jackie AT literaryescapism DOT com. Each purchase is worth ten entries.

The winner must post a review of the novel someplace. Whether it is on their own blog, Amazon, GoodReads, LibraryThing or wherever, it doesn’t matter. Just help get the word out.

The contest will stay open until June 29th, at which time I’ll determine the winner with help from the Research Randomizer and the List Randomizer.

I have not been contacting winners, so you will need to check back to see if you’ve won.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Since I’ve never been to one I would go to romantic times and see all the authors that would be there. Maybe if I like it I would go to all the upcoming ones once I get older.I would be so excited to meet some of my favorite authors and get my books signed by them.

  2. Ohh take me to BEA 2012!

That is one sweet set of swag. I would love to go to these great conventions but unfortunately I live in the sticks in OR and there just are not a lot of event that I can get to under 6 hours. Sad, Sad. When I win the lotto I will just have to fly to them all. Or really the scientists need to invent free teleportation for all and it would totally rock! Come on nerds! Make it happen.

  4. I so wanted to get to RomCon this year, but alas it did not happen. I intent to hit up Smart Chicks Kick It 2.0 this year, so I am saving the change baby!
It is so fun to see everyone’s pics, books and swags that they get at the events though, thank you for sharing.

  5. I would love to go to RT and I’ve been trying to save up to go in the future. There are so many authors that I would have a chance to meet their, I would probably feel like I’m in heaven.

  6. I think I’d like to go to BEA, or failing that, any book con that heavily features fantasy/sci-fi/spec stuff. But BEA’s my first choice, I think. Ive heard so much about it lately that it’s fresh in my mind!

  7. I would love to go to Lori & Dianne’s Annual Author/Reader Get Together. I went once a few years ago, and would love to go again someday! I came home with lots of books, signed by many of my favorite authors. It was also great to meet so many online friends in person, some for the first time.

  8. I would love to go to BEA. I’ve heard so much about it and it seems like so much fun! It would be so cool to meet so many great authors

  9. I would love to go to the RT Convention and see a lot of my favorite authors together and meet other great readers from all over the world.

  11. i love your books i got to meet you at lori leigh at her book club can not put your books down

  12. I would go to the Romantic Times convention. Mainly because it seems to be geared more to the readers. It’s unlikely that I will ever go to one. I am shy enough that doing something like this by myself feels like too great a task (I’m the only reader in my family and most of my friends don’t read the books I do- romance, fantasy, sci-fi, paranormal or have the money).
I love swag:-) And if I ever to make it to a convention, I’m checking a bag!

  13. I really want to go to the Romantic Times Booklovers Convention. I actually planned on going to this years convention. I was extremely excited about it because a lot of authors that I like were going to be there doing book signings… and then I realized that it was for the previous weekend. I had totally miss read the date and was off by a week. Yup, I was pretty upset about it. LoL Next year I will pay better attention to the date.

  14. I would love to win some swag . I can’t get to all these cool reader conferences because they are usally to far away. I will make it to one next year! I would go to RT or RWA because many of the authors I read/communicate with go to these.

Thanks for the contest! Posted it on FB and sent it to Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance Book Lovers FB page.

  15. Oh my, I am not familiar enough with the names of the conferences out there. However, I would be thrilled to attend the one that my favorite authors attend. It would be nice to meet them in person and get to know them as people rather an “untouchable” author.

Thank you for the opportunity to win the awesome swags you are giving away. I am following you on FB, Twitter, this blog, and a member of the GR group (just joined). BTW, what does “swag” mean?
