And you put him with Tim Burton and you have the makings of a great movie. Why do I feel the need to mention this….because Depp’s production company Infinitum-Nihil, and Graham King’s GK Films along with Warner Bros, is developing Dark Shadows into a full length feature film.
While no director, writer or cast has yet been announced, the film is based on over 1,225 episodes of the television series dating from 1966 to 1971. Dark Shadows was a highly atmospheric, spooky soap that featured gothic horror staples like vampires, monsters, witches, werewolves, ghosts and zombies.
Both IESB.net and POPWRAP have annoucned that Tim Burton is set to direct the film, but nothing is official where Depp is concerned. But seriously, if it’s a Burton project with Depp attached to it in some fashion, you know he’s going to be in it. At least I hope he will be. I’m not familiar with the show that the movie will be based on, but it has to be good with these two attached to it.
One other thing since I just saw it…what is with all of the Werewolf and Vampire studies?! There has been another novel released based on the werewolf folklore, legends, mythology, etc. Werewolves by Linda Godfrey is part of the Mysteries, Legends and Unexplained Phenomena series that is currently being released by Chelsea House. They’ve already put out books on Astrology and Divination; ESP, Psychokinesis, and Psychics; UFOs and Aliens; and Ghosts and Haunted Places. I wonder if this means they’ll include vampires, necromancers/zombies, and other paranormal creatures to their lists.
