Gotta Love the Eyes

For a change, I’m starting out today’s post with some sad news. Keri Arthur has started the 9th and final novel in the Riley Jensen series. This totally bums me out since I love this series and will hate to see it end. On a more positive note, Keri did state that it is tentatively titled Captured by Vengeance.

I love it when gets in one of her talk-bubble moods.  Whenever she does one, I always end up cracking up.  This time around, she’s talking about Violence in Books and how it seems odd to worry over it since you can be as descriptive as you want, it’s not going to change the level of imagery that a reader has since it’s up to the reader to do the imagining.

Check out what Tez found over the weekend. The covers for two of Rachel Caine’s upcoming novels – Fade Out (Morganville Vampires #7) and Cape Storm (Weather Warden #8).  Fade Out is set to release November 3, 2009 and Cape Storm has a August 4, 2009 release date.

Nalini Singh finds all the good stuff sometimes.  She happens to be a fan of Anne Bishops (OMG her Black Jewels series is awesome) and she had to find out if there was going to be a sequel to the newley released The Shadow Queen.  Guess what.   There is.  Shalador’s Lady is set to be released in March 2010.  Woot!

Carrie Hinkel-Gill has a fascinating article on the paranormal romance and urban fantasy subgenres over at The Leader.

Rotten Tomatoes has some good news for most comic fans.  It seems that 20th Century Fox is going to be filming a new Fantastic Four movie and they are not using any of the original cast or crew.  The movie may have been a hit for the “bubble gum” crowd (their words, not mine), but for the comic fans, the Alba flicks were a bomb.  It is said that Fox is going to take a more Iron Man approach with the movies, so we’ll see how that ends up.  There is also some news on other Marval productions that are going to be making it to the big screen.  One of which is the possible casting of Alexander Skarsgard (Eric from True Blood) in Thor.

Amazon has a deal going on right now. They are offering a 4 for 3 on Paranormal Romance books right now.  I don’t believe its just paranormal romance either.

CONTEST ALERT – Ann Aguirre is giving away one last ARC of Blue Diablo to the one person who talks the most.  The contest will only be open for 24 hours and will require some effort on your part, but it’s soo worth it if you want a copy like I do.  Although you  might want to hurry over and start catching up, I am so trying for this ARC.  :)

I’m not sure if I had mentioned tihs before, but Harper Collins is doing their March Madness faceoff and guess who are in the top four – For a Few Demons More by Kim Harrison and The Secret Diaries of Miss Miranda Cheever by Julia Quinn.  The Harrison novel is spectacular, although I was terrible sadden by some of the events; I haven’t read the Quinn novel yet, but I know she’s a great writer so it is on my TBR list to read eventually.  So if you love these books too, make sure you head over to the polling site and make your choice known.  Harrison is in the lead, but Quinn is lagging so she definitely needs our help.  CONTEST ALERT – You can also sign up to win all 64 novels that were in the March faceoffs, but you have to vote first.

Smart Bitch Sarah from Smart Bitches, Trashy Books is guest blogging over at Fangs Fur & Fey and she’s talking about Humanity Attracting Humanity: Why I Dig Urban Fantasy.  I have to say, Sarah does have a way with words: “Surrender the booty now because you’re meant to be together due to massive powerful forces so stop whining and start boinking!

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
