I was just thinking about my TBR list plus shelf and I realized that I am in a lot of trouble. I currently have 340 books on my list that I want to read. And the list doesn’t include the books that get added to my shelf when I hit the store. We just moved to our first house, so I didn’t want to add to my TBR pile until my office is set up. I stopped going to the library for books because I didn’t want to have to move them and then drive the 30 minutes back to return them; and I stopped going down the book aisle in grocery stores so nothing would catch my eye. Yeah, that didn’t work. I wasn’t in the house a week when I was up at the library returning a couple of books that we were reading prior and during the move and I came back with three novels:
- Grimspace by A. Aguirre
- When Midnight Come by M. Brennan
- Don’t Hex with Texas by S. Swendson
- Warrior and Witch by M. Brennan
In addition to that, my days were made when I was given five different books from three different authors to read and review.
- Hell’s Belles by Jackie Kessler
- The Road to Hell by Jackie Kessler
- Hotter than Hell by Jackie Kessler
- Midnight’s Daughter by Karen Chance
- Midnight Brunch by Marta Acosta (although I finished this one today)
And I found a great little used book store that had a bunch of books that I have been hearing about or were on my list to read.
- Fangs but No Fangs by K. Love
- Fangs for the Memories by K. Love
- Lost Duke of Wyndham by J. Quinn
- No Rest for the Witches (Anthology)
- Sex and the Psychic Witch by A. Blair
- Witchling by Y. Galenorn
- Gone with the Witch by A. Blair
- Hotter Than Hell (Anthology) – I actually bought this one new
Plus I still have these books on my shelf, packed away somewhere, waiting for me to get to.
- Beauty’s Punishment by A.N. Roquelaure
- Beauty’s Release by A.N. Roquelaure
- Eldest by C. Paolini
- Eragon by C. Paolini
- Hotter than Hell (Anthology)
- Lover Enshrined by JR Ward
- Shifter (Anthology)
- The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty by A.N. Roquelaure
- The Evil That Men Do by N. Holder
- The Passion by D. Boyd
- When He Was Bad (Anthology)
To top it all off, my mother brought up a box full of books I could use as currency for the used book store and when I was going through it, I came across a few novels that I wanted to reread again (and review) before I got rid of them.
- Love’s Golden Promise by L. Vinet
- Untamed by N. Roberts
- From This Day by N. Roberts
- The Angel and the Prince by L. O’Donnell
- Irish Linen by C. McCarthy
- Montana Sky by N. Roberts
- Blithe Images by N. Roberts
- Less of a Stranger by N. Roberts
And none of this includes the 313 books I currently own that I haven’t done a review for. Granted, some of those books are going to be really easy, for instance the children books that I have for Ian, but that’s not the point. I’m looking at over 600 books I want to read and review. And that list is going to continue to grow as I find new authors and receive more books. The thing is, I’m not upset about any of this at all. I’m actually giddy that I have a ton of books I WANT to read and I won’t be scrambling to find something anytime soon. I am in heaven. Books upon books to read and no end in sight. So do I have a problem? Do I need to seek help? God I hope not.
Books that are sent to me are generally moved to the top of the list unless there’s a reason otherwise
Cool!!!
So now I have to ask how you managed to move all the books to the new house? I maybe moving soon and I am a little worried about my tbr books, my permanent collection and the various other books lying around. How many boxes did you need?
I have 27 boxes for my office alone:
1 – Files, paperwork, etc
2 – Random office supplies, electronics, etc
4 – Family photos that I’m going to be converting to digital copies
20 – books books and more books
We had three dolley’s so no one had to actually carrying all of the books. I should also mention I have 610 books (exactly, I have an inventory of all of them), but that does include my son’s books (which were packed as my office) and my husband’s tech books (which were not).
