It’s getting to be that time again. The Book Bloggers Appreciation Week is coming up the week of September 14th through the 18th and they’ve opened the polls for the BBAW Awards. There are a ton more this year, and while I”m hoping to get nominated, I’m not expecting to. There is a lot of competition out there and all of it is just as (if not more so) fabulous than little old me. So, if you have a favorite site (mmm…I wonder if bribery would work), head over to the BBAW site and vote for your favorite blog.
If you’re a fellow book blogger, you can also register your site and get entered to win a sweet grand prize (not sure what it is yet though). However, they are currently counting Fantasy & Science Fiction blogs as Speculative Fiction (which I kind of have an issue with), so you won’t see Fantasy/SciFi as an option just yet.
Wait a minute, you do know what the BBAW is, right? Here’s the general gist:
WHAT A week where we come together, celebrate the contribution and hard work of book bloggers in promoting a culture of literacy, connecting readers to books and authors, and recogonizing the best among us with the Second Annual BBAW Awards. There will be special guest posts, daily blogging themes, and giveaways.
WHY Because books matter. In a world full of options, the people talking about books pour hard work, time, energy, and money into creating a community around the written word. I, Amy, the founder of Book Blogger Appreciation Week love this community of bloggers and want to shower my appreciation on you!
This is a great week to be a blogger because the BBAW generally has a lot of cool prizes for everyone to try for. Last year, one of the prizes was a complete professional custom site design and that’s just kind of cool in my opinion.
It also means there will be some great things going on here. I’ll have a contest going on everyday of the BBAW and each contest will only be open for a day. And this year, I’m thinking all the books will be brand spanking new instead of gently used like last year.
Any more questions, check the site or ask me. But you now have your marching orders. Go forth and vote for your favorite blogger, even if it isn’t me. ;)
Wow, time flies! I’m way behind on my banned books, too. I might have to cheat and load up on kids books.
Oh… but, I did vote for you!
